Dearest Gentle Readers,
It is well known across town that a certain gentleman, long absent from London’s bustling thoroughfares, has not graced its streets for a year. One cannot help but ponder how Mister Sukuna Itadori’s travels have fared, as he embarked on what we all know to be that of most enlightening of ventures–a Grand Tour of Europe. Those familiar with such journeys will know that for most young men of the ton, a tour of Europe offers more than just art and culture—it is a playground of indulgence and mischief. Will Mr. Itadori reappear as the brash and impetuous young man we once knew, or has Europe’s charms softened and tempered his spirit into one more befitting of a mature gentleman? This Author has her doubts, but one can never say for sure until a man reenters Society.
Yet, Gentle Reader, while Mr. Itadori’s return may provide fodder for speculation, there is another gentleman who has quietly yet decisively captured the attentions of the ton this season: His Grace, the Duke Nanami. Not only does His Grace possess a title and considerable inheritance—both of which set many hearts aflutter—but he is also known to be a most genteel and dignified young man, whose decorum and good sense have only enhanced his reputation. Many an eager mama and her hopeful daughter now look to him as the ideal suitor. His Grace, however, has been nothing if not a model of decorum—distant, polite, and entirely too elusive.
But therein, dear reader, lies the dilemma. The Duke’s refusal to engage in more than the most cursory conversation with any lady has led many to wonder: has he already chosen his future Duchess in secret, or is he simply too discerning for any of the eager young women who have presented themselves thus far? One thing is certain, though: the house party in the countryside promises to be most entertaining, especially if the Duke chooses that moment to make his intentions clear. One can only hope the object of his affections is prepared to be swept off her feet—or at the very least, that her mama is! Only time will tell, but one thing this Author assures—his next move shall be watched with the greatest anticipation.
⸻ LADY WHISTLEDOWN’S SOCIETY PAPERS
Dawn breaks out, bathing the land in a rich, golden hue. It seemed as if the very air of the Gojo estate had significantly altered your sense of slumber; before, it would take you fairly long to wake, preferring to stay well rested until Nobara barged in your room, bellowing at you to get ready.
The rhythmic clatter of hooves on the cobblestone path echoed as you guided your mare along the estate’s carefully tended gardens, resplendent in their display of colorful blooms. The thought flashes across your mind—whichever lady of the ton unfortunate enough to inherit the Gojo surname would certainly find herself living an enviable, lavish lifestyle. If nothing else, the manor, with its outstanding grandeur, would offer sufficient distraction from the trials of an insufferable marriage.
Horse-riding had always been of your taste, providing solace when you needed time to ponder upon your thoughts. The fresh morning air was so different from the stifling confines of your room’s walls, soothing your spirit in a way a fitful sleep could not. Inhaling deeply, the cool morning breeze carried with it the scent of flowers and morning dew, offering a reprieve and reminding you of freedom found in quiet moments.
Mornings always feel like new beginnings to you. The sounds of the chirp and the peace of the feeling that you are currently the only person in the world, suspended in time, soothes you. You walk the path laid out in front of you, getting closer and closer to the woods that were next to the Gojo gardens.
The same ones you had the encounter with Gojo in the river.
You tensed slightly, the memory of your embarrassing fall washing over you like a cold splash of water. Gojo had yet to jest at your expense over it was nothing short of miraculous. No doubt, the teasing would come in time, as inevitable as night following day.
The distant sounds of hooves break you out of your thoughts, as you still, turning your head around to see where the sounds originated. When you finally manage to curve your head (almost) fully to the back, in the soft light of the morning, you see a flash of silver hair.
And groan internally.
"I would not have thought the great Lord Gojo so lacking in charm as to resort to covert stalking," you quip, turning in your saddle to face him.
"Stalking?" His familiar, lazy drawl carried across the air as he approached. "Surely you underestimate me, my lady. A mere smile is all it takes to win hearts."
Reluctantly, you wheeled your horse around to face him properly. "Ah, yes. How could I forget? Your captivating smile alone is surely enough to send every lady into a faint, and not at all the rather handsome fortune attached to your name." You eyed him critically—his attire was casual, much like that day in the library: a white shirt carelessly unbuttoned at the collar, black trousers tailored perfectly. There was a hint of weariness in his eyes, though his insufferable smirk remained firmly in place. His hair was fairly polished–in comparison to his clothes–as if he had gotten ready to go somewhere that didn’t require extravagant garments to be worn.
He tilted his head, his gaze moving past you as he urged his horse toward the woods ahead. "Ah, so you find my smile captivating?"
You bristle, realizing his play of making you follow him to continue the conversation and get the last word. “I find your opinion of yourself entirely too high. I never mentioned that I thought you captivating but that of the handsome sum tied to your name.”
“All I heard was handsome.”
You take a deep breath and hold it, your eyes narrowing at the man trotting carefree in front of you. “Are the ladies really so naive that they would fall for just a captivating smile rather than acknowledge your lack of wit?”
Gojo glanced back at you with a raised brow, his grin only widening as he slowed his pace slightly. "Naive, perhaps. Or maybe they’re wise enough to appreciate the finer things in life. Not everyone is so immune to charm.”
You rolled your eyes, clicking your tongue in mild irritation as you spurred your horse forward, coming level with him. “Charm without substance only lasts so long, my lord. I daresay one day you’ll meet someone immune to your tricks.”
He chuckled softly, the sound lazy and unbothered, as though you’d merely entertained him with a light jest. "And yet here you are, still engaging with my so-called ‘lack of substance.’ Could it be, perhaps, that you find me more interesting than you care to admit?”
"I find you no more interesting than a mildly amusing book—one that I can close whenever I please," you shot back, though your eyes flicked over his disheveled appearance. “But you, Lord Gojo, do seem rather underdressed for a morning ride. I hope you’re not planning on inflicting yourself on some unsuspecting lady like this.”
His eyes gleamed with that familiar glint of amusement. "Underdressed? Why, I thought you might prefer me this way—unpretentious and free of the heavy trappings of society." He gave a careless wave toward his shirt. "Besides, I’ve work to do today. I’m making rounds over the dukedom."
You raised an eyebrow. “Work? You?” you echoed, voice laden with playful disbelief.
“Hard to believe, I know. I’m more than just a pretty face, as you’ve so kindly pointed out,” he teased, eyes flicking to you briefly before turning back to the path ahead. “Would you care to join me on my rounds? You might learn something about the ‘substance’ you claim I lack.”
You hesitated, but only briefly. The truth was, the Gojo manor had begun to feel more like a cage with each passing day. The endless routine of polite conversations, tea under the watchful eyes of your mama and Duchess Gojo, and waiting for the upcoming house party with the maids and doormen watching for your every move was beginning to wear on you. The walls of the estate, grand as they were, could only offer so much distraction before they imposed on you. The gardens—beautiful and sprawling—had already been walked, the library somewhat explored. You had gone through the motions of being the perfect guest, yet none of it stirred the thrill of adventure that your heart craved.
Your mind drifted back to London, to a time before all the expectation and decorum had weighed so heavily on your shoulders. A year ago, Sukuna had been your partner in rebellion, the one who shared your disdain for society’s rigid rules. The two of you had stolen mornings together, sneaking out on horseback, galloping through the streets and parks as if the ton’s eyes couldn’t reach you. Sukuna, with his wild streak and brash charm, had always encouraged you to live for the moment, to taste freedom in a way that felt dangerously exhilarating. At night, you and him would enjoy stolen moments on a swing.
There had been no chaperones then, no one to watch your every move or to remind you of what was ‘proper.’ You had been free, in a way you never thought possible—a freedom that felt distant now, almost like a dream.
You studied him for a moment, curiosity beginning to outweigh the slight irritation you felt toward his smug demeanor. What exactly did a duke like Gojo do when he wasn’t parading through society, charming every lady within reach? Despite yourself, you were intrigued by the possibility of seeing him in a different light, away from the polished halls and pretenses.
Here, far from the city’s strict social rules, you felt a flicker of that same wildness returning. There were no watchful eyes in the countryside, no endless stream of whispers and gossip to navigate. The Gojo estate, for all its grandeur, was isolated. Out here, you could indulge in a fleeting taste of freedom once more—especially if it meant escaping the suffocating sense of propriety that came with every room of the mansion.
With Gojo, the stakes were different. He wasn’t Sukuna, who lived on the fringes of the ton with his devil-may-care attitude. No, Gojo occupied the very heart of society’s structure—a duke, a man of immense power and wealth, a figure who could easily sweep up any lady of the ton with a glance. Yet here he was, offering you a glimpse of his world beyond the ballroom, beyond the pretense of polite society.
The thought of accompanying him into the village—unaccompanied, and without the constant pressure of reputation—was thrilling in a way you hadn’t expected. It was as if you were being offered another chance to experience the freedom you once shared with Sukuna. Out here, away from the prying eyes of the ton, you could simply… be. There would be no eyes to judge, no chaperones to pull you away. For a few hours, you could escape the suffocating decorum that bound you so tightly, and just breathe.
And perhaps, just perhaps, there was a part of you curious to see what lay beneath Gojo’s surface. Despite all his teasing and arrogance, there had to be more to the man than his carefully cultivated charm. What did the world of a duke truly entail? What responsibilities lay hidden beneath that confident smirk?
“Well?” Gojo’s voice broke through your thoughts, a hint of amusement dancing on the edge of his words. “You could always go back to the estate. But if you join me, you might learn something. Something real.”
You met his gaze, curiosity stirring. How much freedom could you taste before the world pulled you back into its orbit?
“And what, pray tell, does this so-called ‘work’ of yours truly entail, my lord? Are you certain it isn’t merely an excuse for you to idly saunter about?” you asked, feigning disinterest even as your heart began to quicken at the thought of leaving the mansion’s confines.
Gojo shrugged. “Managing a dukedom is more than just attending parties, my lady. There are land disputes, tenant needs, crops to inspect. All terribly boring, I assure you,” he drawled, though his teasing tone did little to hide his satisfaction.
“And yet, here you are, inviting me to partake in such ‘dreadful’ tasks.” You arched an eyebrow, testing the waters of this strange proposal.
He cast you a sidelong glance, that insufferable smirk playing on his lips again. “You seemed in need of something less tedious than idle conversation. Besides, I can’t let you think I’m all charm and no substance.”
You scoffed lightly, but the temptation was undeniable. A morning spent away from the watchful eyes of society, away from the restrictions that had grown more suffocating with each passing day, sounded like exactly what you needed.
And so, you nudged your horse forward. "Very well, my lord. Lead the way."
As Gojo turned his horse toward the village, you followed, anticipation swirling within you. For just a little while, you would forget the rigid expectations that clung to your every move. And who knew? You might learn something about the man who was far more than just a smile—or at least, you hoped so.
As you and Gojo rode along the countryside road, the gentle thrum of horse hooves against the dirt path filled the early morning air. The village lay just beyond the hill, but the tranquil quiet of the ride had settled between you for now. You looked at the open landscape, enjoying the rare opportunity to simply exist outside the bounds of society's expectations. While Gojo glanced at you, his gaze briefly lingering before he forced his eyes forward again.
To Gojo, you are an enigma.
There was something about you that drew him in—something beyond the usual appeal of a pretty face and a sharp tongue. He had been thinking and rethinking your diary entries ever since he had discovered them, going over every word in his mind like an irritating riddle. Of course, he knew better than to admit that he had read them, let alone how much those words had unsettled him.
Your thoughts, penned in those private moments, had been both surprising and dangerously radical. They spoke of dissatisfaction with the very society that had molded both of you. Critiques of the ton, its shallow expectations, and even its treatment of women—thoughts that, if discovered by the wrong person, could ruin you. Lady Whistledown wouldn’t need much to twist those words into a scandal, to paint you as a rebel, a woman too difficult for any suitor to consider. You would be exiled from the marriage market in an instant, no longer the diamond the people adored.
Realistically, he could do it, in fact. That is, ruin your image for the rest of high society. Gojo knew he had power over you. He could destroy you if he wanted to, could slip a few words into the right ears and watch as your pristine image crumbled like delicate glass. A small, vindictive part of him—perhaps the part that still bristled at your quick wit and frequent jabs—almost considered it. With the way you have been snarkily snapping back, making a fool out of him, and in general being not a very agreeable person, he, in fact, should have incentive to do so, as a payback.
Of course, Gojo could always be the bigger person. He should let you go, keep his distance, and find a more agreeable match—someone easier, someone less troublesome. It would be the rational thing to do. He was Lord Gojo, heir to the Duke of Gojo, after all. He didn’t need to deal with a woman who questioned him at every turn, who might even challenge his reputation just by association.
He knew he should stop courting you, stop this dance before it spiraled into something neither of you could control. And he didn’t know what exactly to choose.
He cleared his throat, finally breaking the silence. “You seem deep in thought, my lady. I do hope I’m not boring you already.” His tone was light, though there was an undercurrent of curiosity.
You quirked an eyebrow, as if debating whether to entertain his question. “No more than usual, my lord.”
He grinned at your response, but then his expression softened, just slightly. “And here I thought you might have enjoyed escaping the estate for a bit. Surely the quiet countryside must be a relief after the pressures of town.”
You gave a small nod, but your guardedness remained. “It is a relief, but one must still be careful, even out here. There are no watchful eyes, but gossip has a way of traveling regardless.”
Gojo smirked, leaning slightly in his saddle. “I doubt anyone could catch up to us before we make it back for breakfast.”
He watched you from the corner of his eye, gauging your reaction. The morning wasn’t extremely windy, but his eyes took in your hair, how the wind shifted it so that your nape—and the slopes of your back and body—was uncovered. Your torso rocked as both your horses moved on, and you were fidgeting with the reins of your horse with gloved hands. You were a puzzle he couldn’t yet solve, but for some reason, that only made him more determined to try.
With a measured tone, he added, “Tell me, do you ever tire of it all? The expectations, the constant scrutiny. It must be exhausting.”
He watched you closely, curious how you might respond, wondering if you would offer something more than your usual sharp wit. Even if you didn’t, Gojo was prepared to nudge you, just enough to see what truly lay beneath the surface.
You turned your head slightly, brushing a loose strand of hair from your neck as you gave him a searching look. Unconsciously, your horses had drifted closer together, and as you moved your hair, revealing your simple, unadorned hairstyle from the morning ride, Gojo caught the intoxicating scent of your shampoo.
Sandalwood.
The notes lingered in the cool morning air, drawing him in. He found himself momentarily captivated, closing his eyes to take in the fragrance. It wasn’t until he regained his composure that he realized you were watching him expectantly, waiting for him to respond.
“My apologies,” Gojo cleared his throat, flashing you a semi-apologetic smile. “You were saying?”
You arched a brow at his absent-mindedness but chose not to press the matter. “As I was saying,” you continued with a subtle edge of humor, “it is a lady’s duty to endure the endless gossip and scrutiny of society. After all, we are part of it, are we not? I am a part of that society—diamond or not.” Then, you snarkily remarked, “Though I imagine you know as much about gossip as I do, my lord.”
There it is. Gojo felt the familiar flare of irritation rise within him as you brought up, yet again, that night on the terrace. How many times would you throw that back in his face? Instead of showing how it bothered him, he slipped into a mocking stance, clutching his chest in an exaggerated display of faux hurt. "You wound me, my lady. Can a gentleman truly not express his true sentiments in private company?"
His smirk faltered slightly, but he pressed on, unwilling to let you have the upper hand. "However, I do know more than you think. I hear things all the time. Not everyone is as... mysterious as they pretend to be."
There was an edge in his voice that hadn’t been there before, and he knew you noticed. He didn’t like where this conversation was heading, but he couldn’t stop himself. Not now.
You narrowed your eyes, your tone sharp. "Is that so? Or are you simply adept at making people feel small, my lord?"
Gojo shrugged, keeping his expression casual, though his jaw tightened. Why did you always know exactly how to get under his skin? "I do not belittle, my lady, but observe. And if you're concerned with my words, rest assured I never speak ill of a lady unless she has thoroughly earned it. After all, gossip, for all its flaws, often carries a kernel of truth."
"I see," you replied, voice clipped. "So you place your trust in whatever the ton whispers, so long as it serves your purposes?"
Gojo met your gaze, his voice lowering with intent. "It is not a matter of convenience, my lady, but discernment. Knowing who is genuine and who is merely playing a part."
He saw the way his words hit you, the way your expression flickered. Good. Let it sink in. You’d been sniping at him for days now, and it was about time you felt a little of the sting you so effortlessly delivered.
"And you, Lord Gojo, are the arbiter of what's 'real'?" Your voice rose, sharp as a blade. "Tell me, then—what’s real about you, besides your title and your incessant need to make others feel beneath you?"
The smirk that usually danced on his lips vanished. He felt something sharp coil in his chest—defensiveness, maybe, or frustration. He wasn’t sure anymore. His tone turned cold, dangerous. "Tread carefully, my lady. You are not as untouchable as you might believe. Perhaps others coddle you, treat you with delicacy because they think you fragile, but I am not of their number."
He saw the way his words cut, deeper than he’d intended, and a part of him regretted it. But another part—the part that was tired of always being one step behind in this game you played—felt a grim satisfaction.
You opened your mouth to respond, but he wasn’t finished. He leaned in slightly, his voice dropping to an almost dangerous softness. “You think you are the only one who carries burdens? I have duties too—my name, my estate, my people. You may despise me for all you like, but at least I do not pretend that none of it matters."
The silence that followed was thick, heavy with the weight of the truths neither of you had spoken before. For a moment, you were speechless, and Gojo couldn’t quite read the expression on your face.
There was a vulnerability in your eyes, something real beneath all the snark and bitterness. It was unsettling. He hadn’t expected to feel any sympathy for you, but seeing that flicker of something raw, something that mirrored the exhaustion he himself felt, made his chest tighten in a way he didn’t like.
You finally broke the silence, your voice quieter now. "I never asked for any of this."
Gojo let out a long breath, some of the tension in his body loosening. His voice softened, the sharp edge gone. "Nor did I."
The moment of mutual understanding was fleeting, fragile, and Gojo wasn’t sure if he wanted to dwell on it or forget it entirely. The silence that followed wasn’t quite hostile anymore, but it wasn’t comfortable either.
Straightening in his saddle, Gojo cleared his throat and gestured ahead. "The village lies just ahead. We should proceed before the shops open, unless, of course, you would rather remain here, basking in your righteous discontent."
He smirked, but it felt more like a mask than anything genuine. He needed the banter, the distance it created between you. It was safer than whatever had just passed between you—a moment of weakness he couldn’t afford to dwell on.
You rolled your eyes but gave a small nod, your expression still guarded. "Lead the way, my lord."
Gojo nudged his horse forward, the tension easing just enough for the both of you to fall back into their usual roles. But the memory of that brief, unguarded moment between you lingered in the back of his mind, nagging at him as they rode towards the marketplace.
Soon enough, the dirt road gradually transformed into cobblestones beneath the horses' hooves, the soft clatter of stone replacing the muffled sound of earth. Up ahead, the village began to unfurl itself, a bustling marketplace coming into view, vibrant with the daily hum of activity. Stalls lined the streets, laden with goods—fresh produce, meats, textiles, and trinkets. The air was thick with the mingling scents of fresh bread, roasting chestnuts, and the subtle hint of herbs from the nearby apothecary. Your stomach twisted sharply at the realization that you had yet to break your fast, and the sweet aroma of bread, freshly baked and still warm from the ovens, stirred your hunger even more.
It was a small comfort that you had chosen to appear on Gojo’s rounds in a simple dress. While far from a maid’s garb, it was enough to blend in with the modest attire of the villagers, allowing you to remain somewhat inconspicuous. You imagined what a spectacle it might have been if you had arrived adorned in the usual finery expected of a lady of your status—a diamond strolling through the marketplace like some exotic bird, plumed and out of place. Even if that interpretation wouldn’t be completely wrong.
You stole a glance at Gojo. His attire, though far more refined than that of the villagers, was practical enough for the countryside—a waistcoat and riding cloak that spoke of wealth but not ostentation. He moved with ease through the marketplace, his presence commanding attention without demanding it. Residents and shopkeepers greeted him warmly, others calling out his name with familiarity. It was clear that he was well-known and, more surprisingly, well-liked among the people here.
You, on the other hand, felt like an outsider—acutely aware of every gaze that lingered a moment too long in your direction. Although the villagers were preoccupied with their own business, there was no mistaking the subtle glances thrown your way as you rode alongside Gojo. Perhaps it was the curiosity of seeing a noblewoman in such a humble place, or perhaps it was simply the oddity of your pairing with him.
“Ah, Satoru!” A baker called out from a window in his store, a wide grin on his flour-dusted face. “Come for your usual loaf, I presume?”
Gojo chuckled softly, bringing his horse to a gentle halt. With practiced ease, he dismounted, his movements graceful and assured as he swung his leg over and landed lightly on his heels. The smoothness of the motion caught you off guard—it was almost unsettling how effortlessly he moved, as if every action was calculated yet unforced. You couldn’t help but feel a pang of irritation, knowing full well that you would never manage such a feat with half as much elegance, even with assistance.
He strode toward the baker with the kind of natural ease that spoke of familiarity and comfort, offering the man a warm, familiar smile as they exchanged pleasantries. There was a certain charm in his manner, a fluidity in the way he blended himself into the simple rhythm of village life, so unlike the polished and sometimes disingenuous world of high society. You found yourself watching their conversation, noting how easily he made himself a part of this world—something that unsettled you more than you cared to admit.
You brought your horse to a stop beside his, watching as Gojo clasped the baker’s hand in greeting. “Not today, I’m afraid,” Gojo remarked with a light laugh, his tone amiable, yet restrained, “though the aroma is tempting enough to make one reconsider their resolve.”
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes, though the tempting aroma of freshly baked bread was almost enough to make you forget your irritation. You remained silent, feeling somewhat out of place amid Gojo’s easy banter with the villagers. There was something about the way he interacted with them—so at ease, so familiar—that unsettled you. The way the baker addressed him by his given name, Satoru, only added to your bewilderment, and you couldn’t help but wonder how much of this was genuine and how much was part of the façade he wielded so effortlessly in society.
“And who might this lovely young lady be?” The baker’s voice drew you from your thoughts. Both men were now looking at you, you the center of attention as the baker looked between you and Gojo expectantly.
Gojo had his arm resting casually on the baker’s shoulder, his usual smirk slipping for a brief moment as he scratched at the back of his head—a gesture that seemed oddly boyish for someone of his station. It was so unlike him that you blinked in surprise. “Ah, this is—”
“Satoru!” Before he could finish, a sharp voice rang out. The next moment, Gojo winced as an older woman smacked him on the back of the head, leaving him clutching it in exaggerated pain. “You’ve found yourself a wife and didn’t think to inform me?”
Gojo turned with a dramatic groan. “No, Mrs. Tanaka, she is not my wife. Must you always strike me so?”
The woman—short in stature but brimming with fiery energy—had her arms crossed, looking up at him with a mixture of affection and reprimand. “And what reason would I have not to, given how you leave everyone guessing?”
Her gaze then shifted to you, her stern expression softening instantly as she hurried over. Taking your hands in hers, she smiled brightly. “Ah, so this is the young lady who’s finally tamed our Satoru.”
You looked between Mrs. Tanaka and Gojo, bewildered, searching for any explanation or protest that might spare you from the implication. But Gojo merely shrugged, an amused—though slightly embarrassed—expression on his face.
Before you could respond, Mrs. Tanaka waved off any attempt at explanation, placing a finger to her lips as though she already knew the truth. “Say no more, my dear. A fine match, indeed.” She then turned to her husband, giving him a pointed look. “Dear, didn’t you say you had some business with Lord Satoru today? Why not invite them into the bakery?”
At the mention of business, Gojo’s expression shifted, and it was almost unnerving how quickly his lighthearted, carefree demeanor gave way to a more serious and focused air. He turned to the baker, his brow slightly furrowed. “Mr. Tanaka, is there another issue with the ledgers? I had thought that those troubles had long since ceased.”
The baker scratched his head sheepishly. “Well, my lord, there have been further claims—false ones, no doubt—regarding the ledgers, particularly in reference to the debt I incurred when I purchased the bakery. I did not wish to trouble you, especially as,” he cast a quick glance at you and nudged Gojo with a knowing grin, “you have a fine lady with you today. But your assistance in resolving the matter would be most appreciated, my lord.”
Gojo’s expression darkened slightly, his jaw tightening as the gravity of the situation became apparent. “Of course, Mr. Tanaka. We shall address it at once. Let us discuss the matter inside.”
Mrs. Tanaka, turning to you with a motherly smile, cooed, “Why don’t you come inside as well, my dear? You look positively famished! Let me prepare something for you.”
As the men disappeared into the back of the bakery to attend to their business, Gojo offering you a brief glance as he followed (as well as an exchange with the baker to have your horses carried to a stable in the village), you were left to follow Mrs. Tanaka’s lead. She guided you to a chair with a gentle, yet insistent, manner, ushering you to sit as though you were a guest of the highest importance. Though her attentiveness was kind, you couldn’t help but feel slightly out of place.
Sitting down, you couldn’t shake the thought—why were you being treated with such familiarity? Yes, Mrs. Tanaka assumed you to be Gojo’s wife, but was the lord you knew, so self-assured and pretentious within society, truly capable of leaving such an impression on these villagers? The notion seemed almost laughable.
You concluded that Gojo must have performed some extraordinary deed—something grand yet deceptively simple, like saving their child from rolling down a hill. A gesture that, while not heroic by any noble standard, had been enough to secure the couple’s undying gratitude. Of course, you mused with a bitter edge, only Gojo could manipulate such a mundane act into a permanent place in their hearts. The thought soured your mood further. It was just like him to charm even the most unsuspecting, innocent villagers into adoring him, using that devilish smile and unearned charisma to weave them into his—--
You were jolted out of your spiraling thoughts, your internal conspiracy theories evaporating at the first whiff of fresh bread. The warm, buttery aroma wafted throughout the room as Mrs. Tanaka made her way towards you, carrying a tray of fresh loaves that looked as good as they smelled–moist and buttery. The sight of the golden-brown crusts made your stomach clench painfully in hunger, reminding you that you had yet to break your fast because of your rendezvous with Gojo.
Mrs. Tanaka set the basket down before you, settling herself across the table, leaning back in her chair with a look of comfortable familiarity as her eyes studied you with quiet observation. Sensing your hesitation, she waved a hand, smiling warmly. “Go on, my dear, help yourself. You’ve yet to break your fast, and it’s no good going hungry.”
With a silent nod of gratitude, you took the invitation, though some part of you briefly wondered what your mother would say if she were to catch you eating so eagerly. But knowing she was nowhere near to scold you for indulgence, you wasted no time. The moment the warm, fresh bread touched your lips, you had to suppress the urge to devour it outright. Though you tried to remain composed, you could not help the small, contented sigh that escaped as the heavenly taste spread across your tongue.
Mrs. Tanaka watched you with delight, the sparkle in her eye showing how your evident enjoyment amused her. You chewed as gracefully as possible, closing your eyes in brief bliss, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. Once you had swallowed and could speak without impropriety, you offered her a sincere, “I am deeply grateful to you for your kindness. This bread is truly unlike any I have tasted before.”
The woman waved off your praise with a hearty laugh. “Oh, my dear, you flatter me too much. Have some more! Your words are as sweet as your disposition.”
A flush crept up your neck at her compliment, and for a moment, you were flustered. Despite being praised endlessly by members of the ton for your beauty and title, there was something undeniably genuine in Mrs. Tanaka’s words—an absence of ulterior motives or expectations. She did not seek anything from you: no favor, no power, no advantageous marriage proposal. Her compliment felt simple, warm, and real.
Mrs. Tanaka continued to smile warmly, her gaze soft as she leaned in a little closer, clearly intrigued by the presence of a lady beside Lord Gojo. She took a sip of tea, her fingers tapping lightly against the table as she asked, “So, my dear, where did you meet our Satoru? He’s never brought a lady to our village before.”
The question caught you off guard. You paused for a moment, careful not to reveal too much or seem overly invested in his affairs. “We met in... social circles,” you answered simply, averting your gaze slightly, trying to keep your tone neutral. There was no need to elaborate or dwell on how precisely your paths had crossed—certainly not to Mrs. Tanaka, no matter how kind she seemed.
But Mrs. Tanaka was undeterred by your hesitance, her eyes lighting up with fondness as she spoke again. “Ah, yes, I suppose that would be the case. Though I’ve known him far longer than most in those circles.” She chuckled, a motherly gleam in her eye. “I’ve been with him since birth, you know. I was his nurse—watched him grow from a babe to the man you see now. Heaven knows it wasn’t easy.”
You glanced up, startled at the intimacy of her revelation. The thought of this woman, now sitting across from you, having been a part of his life since his earliest days struck you in a way you hadn’t expected. Gojo had always seemed like an enigma—a man of privilege and power, impossible to know beyond his title and public persona. But here, in the humble setting of this village, Mrs. Tanaka spoke of him as if he were not some distant lord, but a boy she had raised, a person with a story you had never even considered.
“He was the most energetic child,” Mrs. Tanaka continued, her voice fond and nostalgic. “Always getting into mischief, running circles around everyone. He had so much spirit, but oh, the responsibilities placed on those little shoulders were heavy from the start. Even when he was just a boy, his father had him learning the estate's business, sorting through documents before he could properly read some of them. I remember once—he couldn’t have been more than ten years old—his father handed him a stack of contracts to review. The poor lad spent hours poring over them, brow furrowed like a little man.”
You listened intently, the bread in your hand momentarily forgotten. It was strange, hearing Gojo being spoken of this way—no longer just a lord or rival, but a child burdened by duty far too early.
The woman continued, “I remember thinking how much that experience must’ve aged him. He always carried that burden with such grace, but you could see it—it weighed on him.”
A strange turmoil began to stir in your chest. You had only ever known Gojo as the man he presented to society—arrogant, infuriatingly self-assured, with a grin that could cut like a knife. But now, you were being offered a glimpse of someone else entirely: a boy who had been shaped by forces beyond his control.
Mrs. Tanaka’s voice softened, her gaze faraway as she reminisced. “It was not easy for him, growing up with so much expected of him. He would act out sometimes, just to remind everyone that he was still a boy—still someone who needed room to breathe. But even so, he never shied away from what was asked of him. He understood his duty, perhaps too well.”
“I see.” You swallowed, a strange sensation creeping up your spine.
“He’s a good man, Satoru,” Mrs. Tanaka said softly. “He’s had to grow up faster than most, and he’s been shaped by that weight. But I hope you can see that there’s more to him than what’s on the surface.”
You offered her a polite smile, but inside, your thoughts were a storm of conflicting emotions. Gojo, a man burdened by duty? The notion seemed almost laughable... and yet, there was a part of you that couldn’t dismiss it so easily.
Your gaze then wandered to the man of the topic itself. The baker and him were poring and scanning endlessly over sheets of paper, an uptick in his jaw visible as his eyes remained concentrated, oblivious to your observation from across the bakery. His hand raked over his hair, the muscles in his forearm clenching and unclenching due to the action, as he discussed something with the baker. Whatever matter they were discussing, it was clear it a serious matter, for you could hear the gears whirring through his mind through the calculative look on his face.
The scene felt oddly intimate—watching him in such a serious, unguarded moment. His usual carefree demeanor was replaced by something sharp, calculating, as if the gears of his mind were turning at full speed. He pointed at something on the paper, his brow furrowing, and exchanged a few terse words with the baker. From the look on their faces, the issue seemed grave, but Gojo handled it with a calm decisiveness that surprised you.
Finally, after several moments of quiet but intense discussion, there was a visible shift. The baker nodded, sighing in relief, and Gojo’s posture relaxed, the tension in his frame unwinding. He stood a little taller, rolling his shoulders as though shedding the weight of responsibility that had pressed down on him so heavily just moments before. He glanced at the baker with a reassuring smile, offering a firm pat on the man’s back. It seemed the matter had been resolved.
As Gojo turned his head, his eyes caught yours from across the bakery. Your heart leapt unexpectedly, and you quickly averted your gaze, heat creeping up your neck as you pretended to be fascinated by the contents of the breadbasket in front of you. Despite yourself, a faint flustered feeling bloomed in your chest, and you couldn’t shake the sense of being caught staring.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Gojo making his way toward you, his steps slow but deliberate. You could feel the gentle thud of his boots against the wooden floor, the sound growing louder with each stride. Your back straightened instinctively, your gaze fixed firmly on Mrs. Tanaka, trying to distract yourself from the awareness that Gojo was now directly behind you.
Then, a hand placed on the back of your chair as Gojo effectively leaned over you, peering down to look down at you and Mrs. Tanaka. “Ah, I see you’ve been well entertained,” he drawled, a teasing lilt to it, though quieter and more casual than before.
You manage a polite smile to Mrs. Tanaka despite the teasing intent behind Satoru’s words. "Mrs. Tanaka has been a most gracious host," you replied, avoiding meeting his eyes directly, though you could feel his presence and the heat of his hand behind you, on the back of your chair.
“Well, the business is settled for now,” Gojo turned slightly so that he was addressing Mrs. Tanaka as well. "I’m glad we could clear it up."
Mrs. Tanaka nodded, her expression pleased. "That’s good to hear. I don’t know what we’d do without you, Satoru. You always manage to set things right."
Gojo shrugged modestly, though the smirk playing on his lips told you he was aware of his importance in the village. "I do what I can," he said with an exaggerated sigh, though the humor in his tone softened the boast.
You suppressed the urge to roll your eyes at his self-satisfaction, but Mrs. Tanaka was having none of it, laughing and swatting at his arm. "Enough of that, lad. You’ll give yourself a swollen head.”
Gojo laughed heartily at that, the sound easy and infectious. For a moment, it was almost disarming how comfortable he seemed in this setting, a far cry from the lord who prowled through the ton with that arrogant air of superiority. The contrast gnawed at you, but you pushed the thought aside, focusing instead on Mrs. Tanaka, who now wore an expression of mild concern.
Curiosity piqued, you glanced over to Gojo, only to find a matching look of confusion on his face, his eyebrows slightly raised as he too turned to the woman.
Mrs. Tanaka’s frown deepened as she folded her arms, the lines of worry clear upon her face. “Satoru,” she began, her tone earnest, “is your wife pregnant yet?”
The question landed between you like a stone dropped in still water.
Gojo sputtered, his usual composure vanishing in an instant, and you—taken aback—choked on nothing but air, coughing violently as the shock of the statement hit you squarely.
"P-Pardon?" Gojo stammered, eyes wide, and for once, his usual glib charm utterly failed him.
You managed to recover just enough to speak, though your voice came out hoarse and incredulous. “I—I beg your pardon, ma’am?”
The tension in the room skyrocketed as Mrs. Tanaka blinked innocently between the two of you, utterly oblivious to the awkwardness spreading like wildfire. "Well, it’s just—he’s always been so strong and healthy. I thought, surely by now…"
You quickly attempted to intervene, “No, I assure you—”
But before you could get a full sentence out, Mrs. Tanaka turned to Satoru, her gaze suddenly serious as she leveled him with an intent stare. “You’re doing your task correctly, I presume? You have to apply a bit of force, or you're not performing the act quite right.”
She then turned her concerned frown toward you. “Is he not doing his job properly? You do feel pleasure, don’t you, my dear?”
You blinked, utterly baffled, and turned to Gojo, seeking some kind of explanation. But to no avail—he was conspicuously avoiding your gaze, a rare flush creeping up his neck. The sight of him, normally so self-assured, now visibly flustered, did nothing to quell your rising confusion. “Pleasure?” you echoed, unsure of what she was referring to.
“Satoru!” Mrs. Tanaka scolded, her tone growing more exasperated. “You must conduct the marital act properly!”
Gojo finally intervened, cutting Mrs. Tanaka off with a polite but decisive, "Thank you, Mrs. Tanaka. We shall consider your counsel. I have many errands to get to, so we must take our leave now." His voice was calm, though firm, signaling that the conversation had reached its conclusion. Offering her a swift bow, he gestured for you to follow, and you did so with a quiet, grateful nod.
Once outside, the air between you both felt lighter, though a strange silence still lingered. Both of you took to the streets again—Gojo didn’t seem to make motions towards the bakery’s stable to grab your horses, so you assumed the medium of travel was to be foot for the rest of his errands.
However, after a few steps, curiosity gnawed at you, and you could no longer hold back your question.
"What, exactly, is the marital act?"
Gojo stopped abruptly, turning to face you with a look of utter bewilderment amidst the bustle of the market traveling around you both. "You cannot be serious."
You met his gaze earnestly. "I am entirely serious. My mama hasn't…enlightened me, simply skirting around the topic. I was wondering if you could, given that it has arisen in our conversation."
He blinked, seemingly at a loss for words, before letting out a startled laugh. "It is... how children are conceived."
"Oh," you responded, thinking on it for a moment. "So... one must marry, then?"
Gojo stared at you, incredulity plain on his face. "What?"
"You sign the contract," you explained, as though clarifying something obvious, "and then you lay in bed and embrace, do you not?"
Gojo’s mouth fell open for a moment before he threw his head back with a short, disbelieving laugh. "Just embrace?"
You nodded, though your cheeks had begun to burn under his astonished gaze and you averted your gaze to look at the shiny, red apples a vendor was presenting. "Yes, merely embrace."
Shaking his head, Gojo let out another incredulous chuckle. "And you believe children are delivered by storks as well, I suppose?"
You crossed your arms, feeling your face grow hotter. "I most certainly do not. I was present when my mother gave birth to Yuji, and I heard every scream, thank you very much."
Gojo ran a hand over his face, stifling his amusement as he tried to gather his thoughts. "Clearly there is more to it than simply embracing. It is... a rather more intimate affair."
"More intimate? You mean like wrestling?"
At this, Gojo choked on his laughter, shaking his head in disbelief. "No, not wrestling. It’s... well, I hardly know how to explain it delicately. But it is how one begets children."
You frowned, now growing frustrated with his vagueness. "You speak in riddles. If I am mistaken, then kindly explain what the act entails!"
Gojo sighed deeply, clearly struggling between frustration and amusement. "The marital act is not simply laying beside one another—it involves a... a physical connection, far beyond mere affection. It is, indeed, how children come to be."
You blinked, still not fully understanding, though you refused to let it show. "You could simply say so, instead of dancing around the matter."
Gojo’s lips twitched into a grin. "Ah, but where would be the fun in that?"
"Fun?" you repeated, exasperated. "This is a matter of knowledge!"
"Indeed, a matter of knowledge I did not expect to be imparting today," Gojo said with a wry shake of his head. "Suffice it to say, it is more than an embrace, and when the time comes, you shall learn well enough."
You glared at him, cheeks still warm with embarrassment. "I shall inquire elsewhere, then."
“I would advise you not to,” Gojo remarked wryly, tilting his head to indicate that both of you move, which you surmise is a wise move given that a heavy and big cart was moving towards the general direction of the both of you, and your feet followed him through the market. Roving his eyes over the general treats and food available, you see–from beside him–that his eyes fixate on some sweet smelling pastries on a cart. Not taking his eyes off of them, he adds, “It’s quite a sensitive topic among the ton. I suspect your mama would faint if she heard you were out and about inquiring the true nature of the marital act.”
“I can…consult texts,” you say, offhandedly, but you are equally as enraptured towards the sweets stall you both are walking towards.
“Mmh,” Gojo hums, “You could, I’m sure. However, you might encounter more…scientific things, rather than the personal.”
You shrugged, eyes locked in on the pasty bursting with apples. “Makes no distinction to me.”
In your…focus on the pastry, you failed to hear the upcoming hooves against the street, steadily getting louder and louder towards you. Just as you were reaching the pastry stall, the thunderous clatter of hooves on cobblestones cut through the air, snapping you from your reverie. A carriage barreled down the narrow lane, far too close for comfort and ready to crush you.
Before you could react, Gojo’s hand shot out, firm and unyielding, pulling you back toward him with a swift motion. He held you against his side, shielding you from the oncoming threat, his grip steady and protective. The world seemed to spin for a moment, your senses heightened by the closeness, the warmth of his touch, and the rapid beat of your own heart.
"Must I be responsible for keeping you from walking into trouble?" he murmured, his voice tinged with both relief and a hint of exasperation. You could feel his grip on your arm and waist as he breathed heavily, the sheer strength he possessed making you shocked, even dizzy. The carriage rumbled past, stirring up a cloud of dust, and you were left standing so near to him that you could feel the steady rise and fall of his breath.
You opened your mouth to stammer some excuse, your cheeks hot with embarrassment, but his expression had already softened into that infuriatingly familiar smirk, and he let go of the contact he had on you. "I shall have to keep a closer watch over you, lest pastries and carriages both be your undoing," he teased lightly.
You huffed, stepping back from his person with as much dignity as you could muster. "I was merely... distracted by the sweets, as were you," you replied, sounding petulant even to your own ears.
"Ah, yes, distracted to the point of self-endangerment. Truly, the pastries of this market wield extraordinary power over you."
"I am hardly so careless. It was a mere lapse of focus." Your lips twitched, fighting the smile threatening to surface despite your annoyance.
"If you say so," he drawled, his tone full of mock skepticism. Then, with a more serious note, he added, "Perhaps it would be wise to focus on the task at hand, rather than leaving your life in the hands of apple tarts."
You flushed slightly, more from his sheer perceptiveness than the scolding itself, and cast your eyes away, suddenly unsure of what to say. It was so much simpler when he was mocking you, but this unexpected gentleness was a new kind of challenge altogether.
"Come then," he said, his voice returning to its light, teasing timbre. "Let us continue our quest for knowledge—or, at the very least, for pastries that won't lead to your untimely end."
Moving towards the stall, the smell of various fruits baked into sweets with delicious sauces sprinkled on top. The treats were clearly crafted with care, the kind of sincerity and dedication that no gilded manor kitchen could quite capture. The young couple behind the stall radiated a warmth and pride that spoke of a passion for their craft, one that valued love of the work over the cost of the ingredients.
Gojo, ever at ease among the townsfolk, exchanged pleasantries with the couple, his attention split between their conversation and the tempting selection of tarts. He spoke with the man about some local issue, but you found your focus entirely absorbed by the golden-crusted apple pie that seemed to call to you.
“Would you like to try these?” You looked up to see the presumed wife of the man, smiling at you and eyes twinkling with genuine hospitality.
Returning her smile with a polite nod, you said, "There is no need, truly. How much do you ask for one of these?" You thanked God for remembering to carry your small coin purse—a habit drilled into you by Sukuna’s lessons on self-sufficiency, even if Judgement day came in, you always carried money on your person so long as you were not within your family’s vicinity.
The lady named her price, and you promptly began to search for the correct coins in your purse. Just as your fingers brushed against the cool metal, a gloved hand caught your wrist, halting your movement.
"You must be the only lady in all of Christendom who insists on paying for her own tarts whilst her husband stands idly by," came Gojo’s teasing voice. You didn’t need to look up to know that his familiar smirk was firmly in place, brimming with that infuriating mirth that seemed to accompany his every word.
Without relinquishing his gentle hold on your wrist, he smoothly handed over the coins to the stall owner, then deftly picked up a golden apple tart. His eyes gleamed with something unreadable as he offered the pastry to you, the corners of his mouth twitching as if daring you to protest.
But you didn’t give him what he wanted; rather, you took it without protest—not without rolling your eyes—and looked it over appreciatively.
Gojo bent over to lean his face close into yours, ever so playing the part of a husband wanting to spoil his wife. “Happy?”
You gave him a hum, sticking your tongue out and then taking a bite of the pastry in front of you.
Gojo's smirk widened, clearly amused by your reaction, his blue eyes sparkling with a mix of mischief and satisfaction. He watched you intently, as though gauging your every move, delighting in this little game of his. You knew he expected some sharp retort or flustered reaction, but you were determined not to give him the satisfaction.
Instead, you took a slow, deliberate bite of the tart, savoring its warmth and sweetness. The flaky crust gave way to the soft, spiced apple filling that practically melted on your tongue. You closed your eyes for a brief moment, relishing the taste, and let out a contented sigh. "It is quite satisfactory," you said, allowing a small smile to play on your lips as you met his gaze.
"Well, I should hope so," Gojo said with a chuckle, still playing the role of the devoted husband. "One does go to great lengths to ensure one's wife is suitably indulged."
You rolled your eyes at his theatrics, but there was no denying the way the scene had amused you, despite your best efforts to remain unflappable. “You enjoy this, don’t you?” you remarked dryly.
"More than you can imagine," he replied, his tone light and teasing. "Seeing you this flustered and yet so determined not to show it? Absolutely delightful."
You narrowed your eyes at him, though you couldn't quite suppress the smile tugging at the corner of your mouth. "You are insufferable."
"And yet," he said, leaning in ever so slightly, a touch of softness behind the humor in his voice, "you tolerate me still."
You huffed. "Only because you happen to be useful at times, particularly for giving me the opportunity to escape the confines of your godforsaken manor."
He laughed, a genuine sound that echoed above the bustle of the market. "Oh, I'll take that as the highest compliment, coming from you."
"Enjoy it while you can, Gojo. It may be the last time I am so generous."
"Noted," he said with a grin, giving you a playful wink. "I'll savor it as much as you did that tart."
"You know," you began, musing, "our mamas have truly squandered their efforts. We would never have made a compatible match."
Both of you rode side by side on horseback, the forest trail stretching out before you as you made your way back to the manor. The journey was not far now—the stone turrets of the Gojo estate were already visible in the distance. The both of you hadn’t had much time to do much other than two encounters you had, deciding to make your return before your rendezvous got behindhand. You turned your head slightly to study Gojo's reaction, expecting to find that familiar, self-assured smirk he always wore. But instead, his expression was... different. A touch more solemn, perhaps even conflicted.
At last, he spoke, his voice softer than usual. "And what, pray tell, do you consider a suitable match?"
You let his question hang in the air for a moment, taking in the rustling leaves and the steady rhythm of your horses' hooves against the well-trodden path. It was just the two of you here in the quiet of the forest, far from the prying eyes of society. There was a certain unspoken understanding between you—a truce of sorts—yet also a acknowledgement that either of you could easily betray this moment's candor.
So, ultimately, you chose honesty. Partial honesty.
With a quiet sigh, you chose your words carefully. "I think," you hesitated, your gaze caught by Gojo's steady, penetrating eyes, "I should prefer a life of tranquility once I am wed. Someone gentle, who would respect my desire to occupy myself as I please, who would allow me a measure of privacy." You quickly added, as to not seem too radical, "I mean to say, someone who would not object if I wished to practice my piano in solitude or to pursue a quiet hobby. Surely you understand, my lord, the burden of constantly being in the public eye."
Instead of seeming understanding, Gojo’s gaze on you was…pensive. Your heart sped up as the solace you needed from Gojo after being a bit vulnerable didn’t appear, leaving your mind running as to what he was thinking. The sunlight filtered through the trees, catching in his white hair, giving him an almost ethereal appearance as the two of you rode on in silence.
Then, the clouds covered the sun up, giving his figure a glum, ruminative cast.
After a long pause, he finally spoke, and his voice seemed to carry a note of something deeper, something unspoken. As if he was aware of something you weren’t. “What I do understand that is that you are being deceitful. Both your future husband and to yourself.”
His words hung in the air between you, more like a question than a statement, challenging in a way that left you unprepared. The forest around you seemed to hold its breath, the rustling leaves and birdsong fading into the background as his gaze locked onto yours, probing, almost too perceptive. It was the windiness indicative of rainfall, with the thunder of clouds above you to provide testament to the change in weather.
You straightened in your saddle, feeling the weight of his scrutiny. "I fail to see what you mean," you replied, a touch defensive, though you kept your tone level. "What else should one seek from a marriage if not harmony and respect?"
"You speak of privacy and quiet, of being left to your own devices. But tell me," he said, his voice barely above a murmur, "would that truly satisfy you? To be married to a man who treats you as if you were a painting—beautiful, yes, but best admired from a distance, untouched and unengaged?"
You opened your mouth to respond but found no words. There was a part of you, a stubborn part, that wanted to argue—to tell him he was wrong, that a peaceful life was exactly what you desired.
"I... simply wish to avoid the chaos that comes with too much entanglement," you said finally, more quietly. "I’ve seen what happens when people become too wrapped up in one another. It's a vulnerability I do not wish to expose myself to."
"Ah, I see," he said, nodding slowly yet mockingly as if he was piecing together a puzzle, making you bristle involuntarily. "So, you’d rather not risk the mess of it all—the unpredictability, the chance of losing control. You want safety."
You narrowed your eyes at him, both irritated and unnerved by his perceptiveness. "Is that so wrong?" you challenged. "To desire a life where I can control my own happiness, rather than leave it in the hands of another?"
He matched your tone and fervor. “Is that truly what you believe a marriage is for?”
You sneered. “And don’t you want an accountant for a wife, my lord? It is quite laughable for you to be advising me on the beauty of marriage.”
Enraptured in the heat of the moment, you hadn’t realized that you were nearly at the stables where you had to station your horses until Satoru grabbed his reins—-hands idle before, directing his horse in no particular direction—to now steer his into the stall next to the ones you directed yours.
“My stance on marriage and my character bear no relevance to this matter,” he replied, a rueful smile tugging at his lips as he tethered his horse. His tone was controlled, though a trace of irritation bled through. “Whatever my faults, they do not make your notions any more rational.”
“But you forget that it illuminates who you are,” you hissed, walking towards the exit of the barn, tired of the smell of manure and Gojo, unsure which was more repugnant. “A hypocrite. A whited sepulchre, if you will.”
Gojo barks out a laugh from behind you, following closely behind on your heels. “Any supposed sanctimonious nature of mine does not alter the fact that you are steering yourself into a life of misery. Not just you, but any poor fool incapable of seeing through your polished smiles to your true intentions.”
On a given day, had you not been so incensed or had your opponent been anyone other than Lord Gojo, you might have heeded the thunderous roar of the rain on the stable’s roof or the slick ground outside that awaited you. And on a given day, you wouldn’t have stepped so fast, as if daring the friction of the ground and force of gravity to make you fall flat on your face.
But, alas, it was not that said given day and your ankle made a sickening crunch! against the ground as you fell, your head and body hitting the wet grass. You felt the world tilt unnaturally as you hit the ground, the impact jarring through your body, sending a shockwave of pain radiating from your ankle to the back of your skull. A dull throb began to pulse at your temples, and the rain poured down, blurring your vision into a haze of grays and greens.
Through the blend of sensations, you heard a sharp intake of breath, and then there were hurried footsteps approaching. Somewhere above the din of the storm, a voice called your name, its usual calm fraying at the edges with alarm.
“Miss Itadori!” WIth that you jumped, eyes finally registering a Gojo clenching your wrists tight. “Can you understand what I am saying?”
Your gaze drifted over his face, focusing on the small details—his rain-slicked hair, the concern that flickered behind his eyes, the humorless smile that strained at his lips. Slowly, you managed a nod, though even that small movement made your head swim. “Yes,” you whispered.
Then, you became acutely aware of a warm, crimson fluid pooling around you, contrasting sharply with the rain-soaked earth. You began to feel faint, though not from the severity of the injury itself, but rather from the unfamiliar sight of so much blood. It was unnerving, especially for someone who had never experienced a wound of this nature. The lightheadedness must have been responsible for your sudden admission, “I am frightened.”
Lord Gojo’s eyes, which had moments ago glinted with amusement at your pitiful state, softened ever so slightly. His smirk remained in place, yet you noticed the way his fingers twitched restlessly at his side, betraying the composure he desperately clung to. “My lady, it’s merely a gash. You are not in danger of perishing,” he said, his tone light, almost too light, like a mask hiding something unspoken. “However, it seems I’ll have to carry you to a physician, lest you collapse entirely.”
He stood up from where he had been inspecting your ankle, bending slightly before you with his arms extended. But there was a slight hesitation in his movement, a momentary pause before his hands reached for you, as if he were weighing the consequences, considering the impropriety of the action.
Your eyes widened in alarm at the very idea of being carried by him. “Carry me? What--AHHH!” A sharp scream left your lips as Lord Gojo, without warning, scooped you into his arms. In the blink of an eye, you found yourself in a bridal carry, your gown catching the rain as he strode out of the greenhouse. He moved with a purposeful stride, though his grip on you was perhaps a fraction tighter than necessary, his jaw clenched just a bit too firmly.
You pounded your fists ineffectively against his chest, cheeks burning with indignation. “Gojo, let me down!”
He, of course, ignored your demands entirely, his voice annoyingly gentle as he cooed, “Now, now, it’s for your own good. You’re in no condition to walk, and I can hardly risk your injury worsening.” But despite his calm words, his eyes flickered nervously to your face and then away, almost as though he was afraid of what he might see in your expression if he looked too long.
“What if someone sees us?” you hissed, your mind racing at the impropriety of the situation. The two of you, unchaperoned, in such an undignified position—it would provide gossip for Whistledown and the ton for weeks.
Gojo’s smirk returned, though there was a tightness around his eyes that hadn’t been there before. “I am wearing gloves, my lady. Fear not, I am not making contact with your bare skin.” His attempt at humor felt forced, his voice lacking its usual ease, and when he added, “Though I daresay, it would not be such an unpleasant thought,” the playfulness seemed almost like a deflection.
You narrowed your eyes, trying to distract yourself from the warmth of his arms. “Why do you always wear those?”
“Writing ledgers and doing a lot of work with pens make my fingers blister. It’s quite unsightly, so I prefer to wear them,” he said, his voice steady, though the hand supporting your back trembled almost imperceptibly.
You hummed, settling a little more comfortably in his hold. "You know, you’re quite strong to be able to carry me like this. What manual labor are your parents making you do to get the title of duke?”
“Well,” Gojo began, but his voice sounded tighter now, the rumble of it vibrating through his chest where your head was so near. The proximity seemed to unsettle him in a way his words could not hide; he cleared his throat as if to steady himself, but his breathing was just a touch uneven. My vindication for such close contact will be the blood loss, you thought, as you nestled your head closer to his chest, until your nose was almost grazing his neck. The scent of tobacco and vanilla filled your senses, lulling you closer to the pulse that beat a bit too fast beneath his skin. “I enjoy doing archery. I’ve been doing it ever since I was a child, which happens to strengthen your shoulders.”
You thought back to the night you were strolling in the garden the day of your debut, musing on the size of his shoulders, and mumbled, “Mmmm, I was right.”
Gojo stiffened almost imperceptibly, his gaze flickering down to you in a way that was almost too quick, too searching. His lips parted slightly as if he wanted to say something, but he hesitated. "Right about what?" he asked finally, his tone a bit too casual, as though trying to mask the turmoil behind his nonchalance.
“Nothing,” you murmured, closing your eyes and leaning your head against his shoulder. You felt his gaze linger on you, as though he were trying to decipher a puzzle that was just beyond his reach, before he let out a breath he seemed to have been holding. And as he carried you onward, the rhythm of his heartbeat felt almost in sync with the rain, though you both pretended not to notice how fast it was racing.
As you leaned against him, the warmth of his presence enveloped you, a soothing balm against the chaos swirling in your mind. But the world began to tilt, colors blurring at the edges, and the sounds of the forest faded into a distant hum.
“Gojo…” you whispered, your voice barely a breath, a final plea for clarity before darkness crept in.
The last thing you registered was his grip tightening around you, a hint of alarm breaking through his facade. “Stay with me,” you heard, though his voice felt miles away, echoing in the void as consciousness slipped through your fingers like grains of sand.
Then, the world faded entirely, leaving only the warmth of his arms and the distant sound of his voice.

a/n AHHH HI BRIDGERTON!GOJO READERS I MISSED U!!! im very sorry for the delay that happened with this chapter but for me it's so hard to write...development and angst and fluff becasue when you write it's so hard to know when any of your writing hits :(
but re-reading ur comments reblogs and asks inspire me a lot to continue so we all good :3 i think what happened was that i kind of went thru a crisis where i thought my writing wasn't good at all because of certain things i saw in other authors', i.e. writing longfics that have 10k+ words that led me to believe i wasn't writing enough, that my plotline was progressing too fast, etc. i might have long chapters going on, i might not because i realize how stupid that belief was lol. anyways moving forward i dont think we will see that type of delay because i have the best readers hehe <3 love you all and im kind of giggling in anticipation to all your funny comments because they make my day
ANYWAYS like always reblogs and comments are appreciated <333

❝ the duke’s proposal ❞ w. satoru gojo 𝜗𝜚.
BRIDGERTON AU⌇
• — dearest gentle readers. the time has come for us to place our bets for the upcoming social season! marriage-minded mamas must consider the oldest of the gojo’s family thrilled to conquer hearts with his wits and undeniable charm. having officially announced his wish to find a bride, we certainly hope to see the young rake, on the dance floor, turn the tides and find a wife after much seasons of avoiding his duty. may the best lady win! • — a/n. i know @grumpchua asked for this and i believe it will feed some of y’all, so here’s the food <3
.nsfw.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who you’ve known ever since your debut and has been a inconvenience in your life for quite a while. like a tick biting into your flesh, only bringing trouble and worry for yourself. truth is, the duke loved pestering you about failed courting attempts or clumsy men coming to steal your hand, only to fall with them into a life of misery and depths. you undoubtedly did not attract the smartest and wealthiest of them all and satoru took advantage of this unwanted success.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who’s audacious. far from being a gentleman. the cockiest of all rakes. you did not only despise the man, you thought he was without honour, unromantic and arrogant. lord satoru was, in fact, everything you thought he was, but loved to show you personally every single one of his flaws.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who, despite your best efforts, thought no better but to follow you around at every ball and "unexpectedly" bump into you at the market or when you walked out of the modiste. lord gojo was high in the instep, purposely shoving his strength of character and title in unfortunate suitors’ faces every time they deemed to approach you. needless to say, he took pleasure in crushing your chances of ever securing a proposal.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who has never really shown any interest in you, before. he would rather amuse himself by courting pretty debutantes only to leave them hanging and being chased by the impatient mamas of the ton. that was until his status caught up to him and forced the man to consider a serious marriage proposal. unfortunately for you, an idea blossomed into the young rake’s mind when he realized his need to find a bride was more urgent than he hoped to be.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who, one evening, during a tranquil promenade, abruptly stops and steals you from your mama, offering his hand for you to finish your walk beside him. he obviously had a plan and it involved the lady that despised him the most in this entire ton: you— and who would be better than you to not catch feelings and be able to execute his plan perfectly?
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who proposes an alliance. knowing you only attract the worst suitors possible, he assures you that more eligible men will throw themselves at your feet when they see the famous duke gojo court you. he swears it’ll only be temporary until he can find a suitable bride of his own without hundreds of ladies begging for his attention when you’re wrapped around his arm. you’ll be found desirable and he’ll have the peace he desires. what could possibly go wrong?
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who, for the first days, tries harder than any other years you’ve known him. the first day, your carriage’s waiting downstairs to meet him in the parc. he’s holding your umbrella above your head the whole time and acting like quite the gentleman, for once. he laughs with you, readjusts your hair and takes care of every single one of your needs. this masquerade goes on for two weeks where, each day, he surprises you with gorgeous flowers, kind gestures and words you would’ve never thought to hear. until one night, it’s an invite to his mansion that’s waiting for you, which you accept thinking it’ll just be another public appearance with him by your side. oh, but you couldn’t have been more wrong.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who welcomes you in his home, one gentle hand resting against the back of your corset to escort you to the ballroom where people were gathered and seemed to be enjoying their evening. everything would’ve seemed in order if not for the many men eyeing you from across the room. it seemed odd now, considering you hadn’t had this kind of attention for weeks, but it also seemed like satoru’s plan had worked and you couldn’t be more satisfied.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who listens to you converse with one of the gentlemen who had introduced himself to you. he seemed kind, polite, educated and of high status, which couldn’t have been more perfect if it hadn’t been for the duke terminating the conversation with a harsh remark and by guiding you to the dance floor without even writing his name on the card around your wrist. he had lost his temper in a matter of seconds and you were more than surprised by his lack of manners.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who tries to convince you to play along but you know this is entirely about something else. his grip around your waist and hand has never been so tight. he’s pulling you closer until his breath tickles your face and his words are whispers when he reminds you that your deal isn’t over and you’ll have to wait until you are allowed to let yourself be courted by other men. you try to respond but he spins you around gracefully. his fingers trail your column when he catches you and before you know it, you’re dancing with him and no one else is in the room.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo whose deep gaze startles you. he hasn’t left your eyes and does not plan to until he gets a proper response from you. satoru’s piercing blue eyes linger on your lips with a cocky smirk and you don’t know why your heart is beating so fast. he had never shown this facet of his before and it made your chest flutter. would he have preferred your attention was entirely on him, this evening, and not on the handsome suitor that had caught yours? no. you hated him. he was tricking you to make it seem real.. right?
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo whose tension is enough to fill the room with curious whispers surrounding your odd pair. you two made it seem like you had shared more than simple dinners and promises. in front of everyone, you looked used to being so intimate with satoru, but you were trembling in your shoes when he leaned forward, grazing his lips against your ear to try and make you understand that he wouldn’t allow any suitors to approach you just yet.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who pulls you away from the crowd, stealing you away to his bedchamber in front of indiscreet pairs of eyes. he seems more impatient than ever when his instinct takes over and, god, your innocence has an unexpected hold on him. you question satoru with incomprehension in your eyes until he finally closes the door to answer you.
₊˚ପ⊹ duke!gojo who skillfully shows you everything you’ve been missing and every little sinful activity he’s been partaking in with innocent debutantes such as yourself. only this time, he means it. his hands touch every sensitive spot, his lips cover yours and trail down to your exposed chest. his fingers slipped under your dress, letting him discover your body with your help as you take him in, whining at his insensitive touch.
you’ll never know, that night, if duke satoru gojo meant to lose his mind over you in front of everyone else for his scheme and personal gain or if it had been purely accidental and you had just mesmerized the rake in a matter of weeks to the point where he couldn’t think about anything else but to have you in his bed for the rest of his life.

How the JJK Men Flirt
characters: Gojo, Nanami, Choso
⚝ content: slightly suggestive for gojo, choso is a cutie pie, Nanami will always be husband material
Satoru Gojo
Thinks he is a smooth operator
In reality, has zero rizz. Creepy rizz.
“Damn Ma, you shit with that ass?” 😩
Makes up for it with his looks and the fact that he’s loaded (wallet and pants).
“When are you gonna let me take you out on a date?” He leans against the wall looking down at you through his blindfold.
“Go away Satoru.” You slip past his arms, leaving the white-haired sorcerer speechless.
You lounge on the couch of your apartment when you hear a knock on the door. Upon opening it you see roses, snacks, and a Chanel bag on the doorstep. Attached to the flowers is a card.
‘Get ready for the BEST NIGHT EVER be there @ 7<3’
Guess you have no choice now?
Once you get past his strong personality he’s actually really sweet.
His laid-back demeanor is really just a front, Satoru is a nervous wreck when it comes to talking to women. Especially You.
Is so worried about impressing you, he buys the most expensive thing on the menu. The food ends up being way too fancy for your tastes so you guys end up at a fast food place.
Orders everything off the menu there too.
Ends up getting so sick from eating too much you have to take him home to take care of him.
That was his plan all along.
★。------ \|/------。★
Kento Nanami
You can’t really tell he’s flirting??
It starts as little things he does for you.
Complaining about working late? A cup of coffee is on your desk when you get to work.
No time to grab lunch? Kento coincidentally has an extra bento.
He always plays it off though:
“I just happened to make too much food.”
“We can’t afford for you to get sick, there’s too much work to get done.”
But the truth is, he hopes you complain about something so he can swoop in and fix it. On your day off, the first one in months you decide to visit a bakery you’ve seen all over Instagram. You see a tall man in front of you… he kind of looks like-
“Kento?”
“Oh. Hello.” He turns around, recognizing your voice immediately. He looks different without a suit. “I’ve never seen you here before. Might this be your first time?”
“Yeah, I saw it online and wanted to give it a shot!” You chuckle nervously.
The line moves, it’s now Kento’s turn to order.
“I’ll have the sourdough loaf, half dozen croissants and..” He turns to you “Whatever this young lady wants.”
You end up ordering a slice of chocolate cake and a few other treats. Profusely thanking your coworker for paying, ever the gentleman.
“Thanks again, please allow me to pay you back-”
“Don’t even think about it.” He says firmly, a moment passes. “Are you heading out now? Maybe we can eat some of these together—”
“YES.”
★。------ \|/------。★
Choso Kamo
Actually adorable.
Follows you around like a love-sick puppy.
You need him to jump? How high?
He notices EVERYTHING about you.
“You changed your hair today. I like it.”
“I’ve never seen you in that sweater before, its pretty.” All said with an intense blush on his face.
He doesn’t really understand why you have such an effect on him, at first he thinks you cursed him or something.
But one day he’s out with Yuji and brings it up.
“Whenever I’m with (Y/N) I don’t want to leave her side. It's like I’m drawn to her.”
His younger brother just laughs.
“Sounds like you’re in love Choso.”
Love?
Once he realizes it he just flat-out confesses. Pulls you away to a secluded spot on the school grounds. There's a bouquet of roses, a teddy bear and chocolate by the base of the tree.
Takes your hands in his and looks at you with a scared but hopeful expression.
“(Y/N).. Would you please be my girlfriend?”
And your heart swoons.

im posting so much lol, hope u guys enjoy a lil sloppy nd not proofread (it’s 12:52am while writing this)
CLOCKING INTO your lousy job on a regular Monday morning. You opened the door, hearing the soft jingles of bell above the door creep into your ears, you only rolled your eyes in annoyance. You saw Satoru wiping down the counter with a dry towel. He glanced up and saw you, a swift smile appeared on his face. “Ah! Hey! You came in early!” He said, but you glared at him. His cheery mood already pissed you off, walking past him.
He wasn’t fazed by it at all, he only shrugged and continued to wipe down the counters.
Later into the day, the regular customers emerged into the store. You fixed your apron, walking to your register as you tapped the wooden counter. You took a couple orders before seeing the door chime open to reveal this lady. Your eyes got adjusted and stared before realizing who it was, you felt your body tense up. It was a regular, well, Satoru’s regular..
She always pissed you off, the way she would twirl her dumb hair at him, and how she would tip him a stupid amount every single time. How she would give you mean glares and graze her hand on his arm and giggle with him, make the small talk that gets so irritating to hear. You scrunched up your nose as she walked in with her heels clicking against the floor.
Satoru smiled, “My favorite, how are we doing today, beautiful!” He complimented. You glared at him through your peripheral, such a cheeky man. You scoffed to yourself, checking your clock to already go on break but you still had a couple hours left to go.
You heard her annoying giggle, shrugging as she twirled her hair. “Nothing much, just wanted to stop by and get my regular, just got a promotion too.” She snickered as she gave you a sly look, then turning her eyes to look at Satoru’s blue orbs, she honestly made your blood boil. “Awh! Really? I feel honored and happy for you, amazing that everything is working out for you.” Gojo smiled, pressing in her order. “That will be $9.15, anything else?”
She shook her head, “Nope.” She took out her wallet and placed down a 20 dollar bill with a paper note on it. “Keep the change.” She winked. Your fist curled up in anger, fuming with rage. “Gojo.” You spoke up, “I’m gonna refill some of the coffee beans. I’ll be right back.” You said, walking away into the back. “Ah,” he frowned then turned back at the lady. “Yeah, thanks. I’m gonna get your order whipped up.” He said, walking to the back to make the order.
Later that day, Gojo was making some coffees and teas as he usual does, yawning and capping the drink. “Number 1840?” He called, watching an older gentleman walk up and take his black coffee, “Enjoy your drink, come again.” He said, voice soft as a feather. As he went back to taking orders and such, he couldn’t help but think of you. You were gone in the storage room for so long, couldn’t be just for a restock. He tried to shake this thought away but it was bothering him so much it was him uncomfortable in his own skin.
Business was getting slow since rush hour was practically over and not much was getting done. One of the workers sneaked up behind Gojo, putting a hand on his arm. He was startled but quickly chuckled lightly to see his coworker. “Hey!” She said with a smile. “Hi! You kind of scared me, not gonna lie. What’s up?” He said. “Well, I was wondering if you’d like to hang out after work? I figured since you’re usually free on Mondays, what fun would it be to hang out with my favorite coworker!?” She giggled, grazing her fingers in his arm.
Satoru felt twinges of cringe pump in his body. He strayed away from her touch, clearing his throat. “Hey, uh— I’m gonna go to the storage room real quick, hold that thought. We are just out of vanilla syrup.” He quickly said before walking away. She raised a brow confused, “B-But we have enough!!?” She announced to him but he was already gone.
Gojo walked over to the storage room, seeing you pick at certain boxes, looking at the labels. “Hey,” he says, closing the door behind him. You gasped, getting ahold at your chest. You groaned as you realized it was just him. “Fuck! Don’t scare me like that!” You sucked your teeth, turning back to check the labels.
“Sorry, just wanted to come and check on you. You seemed so tense for a morning shift and I thought maybe that’s just cause it’s Monday but, it’s like.. you seem really.. ya’know?” He pouts, putting his hands on his hips. “I just want to know what’s going on with you— what’s going on with us.” He continued. You raised your brow, continuing to put small boxes away and checking lousy labels that were improperly labeled on the boxes.
“What are you talking about?” You said harshly, mustering up the courage to turn and look at him. You felt your heart beat so hard in your chest, like you had to run and catch it if it ever decided to break through. His fluffy white hair, his soft and clean skin, his plump lips, the blue eyes, everything about his looks was such a temptation. You cleared your throat, whisking away those fantasies.
“Eh? Sweets, cmon. You know what I am talking about. Every single morning I put on a smile, greet you and try to make small talk. But it seems like I’m your inconvenience, and I don’t get it. I’m so nice to you, or at least I’m trying to be.” He continues to pucker his bottom lip out, furrowed down brows and hands remaining on his hips. “It’s.. It’s not you.” You admitted, shaking your head.
“Listen, I don’t even know why you’re here.. I just came here to restock, that’s all.” You tried to switch the topic but Satoru wasn’t having it. “You’re lying, and I know you are. Restocking coffee beans don’t take that long, and you know it.” He huffed, taking his hands off his hips and walking up to you, clearly invading your personal bubble. “Are you jealous of me?”
He had your full attention, your ears perked up as you turned around to face him. “Huh?! Why would I be jealous of you!?” You scoffed, crossing your arms. Gojo shrugged, “Well for one, every time that one regular comes in you just look at me with a nasty look, when she would accidentally touch me your nose would crinkle up in a certain way and you—” Gojo finally realized, his lips shaping into a O shape.
He nodded his head, smirking at your confused face. “Okay, I see.” He nods once more, “You like me.” He says. You immediately shook your head, but you knew deep down inside, it was true. Maybe the one-sided tension between you both was just because of a crush you couldn’t admit to. “I- What?! I don’t like you.” You said defensively. You sucked your teeth, shaking your head.
“Yes you do, I know you hate that regular because she hits on me.” He teases. You rolled your eyes, “No, I just hate her because she’s annoying. She would always fucking touch you and it’s just gross, why won’t she keep her hands to herself!? Do you understand how frustrating it is to see my coworker getting hit on by every customer coming inside those doors?!” You ranted, shaking your head in disbelief.
“Is that because you’re jealous?” He inferred, getting closer to you. Your back pressed against an empty shelf. “No.. I’m not jealous.” You said lowly, lying to yourself in the process since it was obvious that Satoru can see through your bs. “Mm, sure. Can I kiss you?” He asked, making your heart thump.
You looked at him with slightly widened eyes but truly what were you expecting? He was a forward guy, but I guess he suppresses his thoughts for work. “What?” You said, feeling Gojo fully invade your personal space. “I want to kiss you, I’m asking if I could.” He repeated. You couldn’t miss up on this opportunity, how could anyone? “Yeah,” you shrugged nonchalantly, only to keep your cool but you were freaking out on the inside, “sure.” With that, he slithered his hands around your waist, pressing his lips against yours.
Without warning he slid his tongue inside your mouth, hesitantly, your tongue lapped around his. Your fingers didn’t know where to go, so you just placed them on his shoulders. Trying to get used to this and seem cool. “Does that feel good?” He asked between kisses, pressing your hips against his. You could already feel his hard-on. You didn’t say anything about that beside responding to his question.
“Mhm.” You hummed. Both of your tongues swirling, mixing his saliva around with yours, moaning and groaning filled the air. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him in closer for a sweeter and more intense and tender kiss. One of Gojos hands undid your apron, swiftly taking it off and tossing it on the floor. “Hey!-” “Hush.” He returned to kiss you, sliding your shirt up, caressing on your soft skin. “Tell me when it’s too much,” he reassured, pressing his lips against your neck and ears.
“I wanna show you how good I can make you feel, not anyone else. You hear me?” His tone slightly firm, his voice rattling in your ears. You nodded, your chest heaving up and down at a steady pace. You watch him unbuckle your belt, pulling your pants all the way down, alongside with your underwear. I felt embarrassing to do this in a storage room but at least Gojo was giving you some dick. “Nice.” He said, making you flush with slight humiliation. “Turn around.” He demanded.
You did as he said and turned around, you could hear the tingles of his belt and the unzips of his pants. You felt his tip run across your already soaking wet pussy. You clenched over nothing, letting out soft and quiet moans. “You’re so fucking wet, all f’me.” He ran his tip against your lips again, finally sliding his dick inside. You gasped, trying to grip onto the walls knowing there was nothing to grip onto. Your cheek and chest against the wall, your fingers curled, your stomach aching with excitement.
You felt the soft slaps of his skin to your skin as he held your waist, making sure he was sliding in and out of you, deeply. “A-ah, fuck. Fuck, yes.” You moaned, your eyes closed with your jaw dropped. “Your moans are so pretty, so soothing..” he whispered to himself, groaning as he felt you clenches. “S-shit. Stop clenching around me like that, it feels so good.” He let out a moan, trying to go faster to distract himself.
Your moans became louder and louder to the point where Gojo had to put his hand around your mouth. “So loud, we are still on the clock, princess. Not fully alone yet, can you stay quiet f’me? Not let everyone in the building know I’m gonna fuck this pretty lil’ pussy?” He cooed, teasing you as he went purposely faster. You couldn’t even nod your head, you felt like every second you were go brain dead on his dick.
Your clit throbbed at the pleasure, your stomach knotting up as you felt your orgasm approaching. “Cum..” you muffled, Gojo hummed. “You’re gonna cum on my dick? So soon? Not fair.” He whispered, pouting at his disappointment. “Hold it.” He said, moving your hand away so you wouldn’t be able to touch your clit.
“Can’t-” you murmured, “But you can, and you will. Take this dick, take it like a good girl, okay? This dick is all fucking yours, m’kay?” He let out subtle moans in your ear, going faster and deeper. For a moment you swore you could’ve felt him in your guts. “You don’t think I see your regular come up here and flirt with you? I try my best to hide it but fuck, I wanna make you mine. I don’t want any other guy to hit on you and I promise I won’t let a girl hit on me again.” He continues, knowing you can’t even speak back from the overwhelming pleasure.
“I love you, baby, love you so much.” He confessed, kissing on your neck as his thrust faltered. He was getting so close and you knew it. The sounds of skin to skin were getting only louder, the room so muggy and humid. You couldn’t even fucking breathe. You were too fucked out to even reply to his confession, you didn’t even know he confessed! Your back arched deeply, your moans seeping back his thick fingers. “I can feel you, it’s okay, cum around this dick. All f’you.” He reassures, “M’gunna cum too, okay? Let’s do it together, does that sound good?” It was like he was talking to himself, your conscious barely slipping in your mind as his thrust got sloppier and sloppier.
The euphoric moment of your orgasm reaching made you scream in his hand. He groaned in your ear, letting his cum run deep inside you. Filling you up, so warmly. “Yeah, fuckkk..” he hummed, taking his hand off you. His hand warm and moist from your mouth. Your body felt so limp but yet he didn’t let go. His dick still stuffing you, not pulling out just yet.
“I think they heard us, not gonna lie.”

My Husband
IMAGINE: MY HUSBAND GENRE: FLUFF characters: satoru, megumi, yuji, nanami, suguru cw: gn reader. use of wife. not proof read. **************
Gojo Satoru:
You hear an audible gasp from behind you, while you start to pay the cashier.
As soon as you finish paying, you turn around to face Satoru who has a glowing grin on his face.
“What’s the matter with you?” You ask him.
“Nothing….wifey.”
You side-eye him, “Wifey?”
“Yeah, you called me your husband. So it’s only right that I call you my wifey.”
“Ohh, did I call you husband?”
Satoru slings an arm around your shoulders, bringing you in closer.
“Here you go.” The worker says while handing you the order.
“Thank you.”
“Isn’t my wifey so beautiful?” He tells the worker.
Your face burns up at his words.
“Oh my god…” you mutter under your breath.
“Ignore him, please.” You tell the worker, and they nod at you in thanks.
You grab the items, hand Satoru the kikufuku, and walk away.
“Wait up, wifey!” He shouts after you roll your eyes.
“Don’t worry.” He says after catching up to you, “one day you’ll be able to call me your husband one day.”
Megumi:
The both of you were planning a date until you bumped into some friends.
Megumi didn’t say anything. He only stood behind you, on his phone barely paying attention to the conversation.
He didn’t care what was happening, but he sure wished you would hurry up.
It was like one of those situations when your mom sees an old friend and they talk forever.
He wasn’t paying attention until he heard your last sentence.
“Well, I have to go. My husband and I are supposed to go on a date.” You say and Megumi feels his heart jump at your words.
“Let’s go,” you say while grabbing Megumi’s arm and dragging him away.
You glance over at him, noticing the pink shade on his face. You shove him a little, gaining his attention.
“Is something wrong?”
Megumi shakes his head.
“Are you sure? You’re kind of pink.”
“Yeah… it’s your fault.” He mutters but you are still able to hear him.
You let out a small laugh, “how is it my fault?”
“You know.”
You were silent for a bit and then you realized.
“Oh! I called you husband, didn’t I?”
Megumi didn’t answer, but the redness on his cheeks was enough of an answer.
You let out another giggle, “oh. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean-”
“I like it.” Megumi whispers and you freeze.
Now it’s your turn to turn red in the face.
Yuji Itadori:
“Ooh, ooh. Right now would be a great time for a picture.” You say pulling out your phone.
The sky was setting into a beautiful sunset. The sky is full of colors purples, pinks, and oranges.
Flipping the phone over to selfie mode; you point it towards Yuji and you.
Yuji largely grins at the phone, squishing his face against yours. His infectious smile caused you to grin so large that your cheeks turned pink.
You snapped the picture, happily looking at the picture of you two.
“Awe, this is so cute. You’re so cute.” You say while getting ready to post it on every single one of your social media.
“No, you’re cuter.”
“No way. My husband is so much cuter.” You mutter and Yuji’s eyes widen.
“Husband?!”
He leans over, his chin resting on your shoulder.
You didn’t answer him.
“Did you call me your husband?”
“Hmm,” you turn your head, “oh. Oops. I guess I did.”
Yuji plants a kiss on your cheek. “It’s okay. I like the sound of it. Husband. And you’ll be my wife! Oh, imagine just having my last name.”
You laugh, “Oh Yuji, I’ve already been imagining your last name with my name. (y/n) Itadori. Sounds cute, right?”
Yuji looks at you with a love-struck look.
“You’re amazing.”
Nanami:
Nanami is a gentleman at heart. Always offering to run errands with you to lessen your carry load.
Nanami was pushing the cart, while you were reading over the list.
Nanami peeks over at your list, “oh. You forgot to add our tea to the list.” “We’re running low?” “Yeah.” “Oh, I didn’t know.”
“Awe, what a cute couple.” You hear a lady’s voice say.
The both of you turn to the voice, seeing an older couple.
Both of them looking at you in complete adoration.
Reminiscing on the old days that they shared together.
You smile at them, “thank you. My husband is just the best.”
Nanami’s eyes widen hearing your words.
“Awe, just so cute.” The old lady says before her and her husband walk away.
Nanami grabs onto your hand, grabbing your attention.
“Husband?” He asks and your eyes widen too. “Oops, did I say that out loud?”
He chuckles and nods his head. Your face slowly turns red at the realization. “Uh, well. I didn’t mean it. Well maybe I did? Well I do know that I want to marry you one day, and I know that we’re not actually married right now. So I don’t know why I said husband but-”
Nanami suddenly cuts you off by leaning down and snatching the air right out of your mouth.
He pulls away, and you’re too stunned to speak. He always seemed to know what to do when you ramble.
“It’s okay darling. I plan on marrying you someday too.”
Suguru Geto:
Suguru is the best man you could ever ask for.
He can always predict your needs before you even need it.
That’s why you’re head laid in his lap, his hand massaging through your hair. Fingers massaging at your scalp. Smoothing out any knot or soreness that weighed you down.
The small moans you released from time to time were borderline pornographic. It would be embarrassing if it didn’t feel so good.
“Ugh, you’re the best husband ever.”
The words slipped out of your mouth before you could even stop it.
You could feel his hands stop moving and you began to get nervous that you freaked Suguru out.
Your eyes opened and you began to sit up.
“I am so sorry, I didn’t-”
Suguru just smiles at you, pushing your head back down into his lap.
You tense up a little bit, not knowing what to do.
He leans down, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead. “It’s okay. I see you as my wife as well.”
A large grin breaks out on your face, “really?”
“Really. Once I save up enough money, you’ll have the best engagement ring in the world.”
You giggle, “I don’t need the best engagement ring. I only need you.” “Well, you deserve the best. So I’m going to make sure you get the best.”
“I already have the best, right in front of me.”

You look beautiful dear
How jjk men react when you’re wearing a new dress
-> Gojo, geto, nanami, toji
Gojo Satoru:
Going on important events with Satoru was regularity. Dressing up with the expensive dresses Satoru buys for you, the new jewelry set he bought just yesterday that matched his eyes with the little blue diamonds in it. You loved this one. A beautiful dress in wine red fitting your figure perfectly highlighting every curve of your body. Shoulders exposed it looked so beautiful. Louboutin heel matching the vibe with beautiful red lipstick and gojos favorite perfume.
la belle jean Paul gaultier
He goes crazy when you wear this one. And he did the second, he saw you. “Wow” was the only thing he said as his eyes started to analyze everything. He moved close to you his hands moving to your hips pulling you close. “Damn baby I don’t think we’ll make it” he said kissing you. “Hm why is that Toru?”you smiled teasingly. “Good god look at you. So beautiful and the way this dress hugs you and your smell. Shit you make me crazy” he kissed you again. “Mr. Gojo we have to leave now” the chauffeur said. “Of course” he said rolling his eyes a little as the two of you got into the car. Well he did look handsome as well. He wore your favorite suit and his sunglasses. “You look handsome as well baby” you whispered as you two sat in the car. “Thank you” he only smiled. His hands resting on your thigh.
As you guys arrived at the meeting or more show me how rich you are a special event of course Satoru was invited as a special guest. Nanami greeted you with heart he adored you and he never understood how you could date this maniac. “Long time no see, you look good” nanami smiled as he gave you a small hug “Still my wife Kento” Gojo whispered to nanami, who sincerely ignored him.
Suguru Geto:
His birthday was close. And you wanted to surprise him with a dinner. Planning the whole day. Making him breakfast and all that stuff spoiling him a little.
It was evening and you put his favorite dress on. A black maxi dress fitting like it was made for your body. Matching Valentino heels and his favorite perfume hypnotic poison Dior. He loved this one on you. “Baby come on we need to leave.” Suguru called you. “Yeah don’t worry I have everything planned out” you told while coming to the door putting some earring in. “Hey beautiful” he smiled coming up behind you kissing your neck softly. “Damn baby look at you all dressed up just for me?” He smiled. His hands tracing your soft curves. “Of course” you smiled. “Come on sugu” you smiled walking towards the door. “I don’t know” he smiled looking down your ass. “You’re looking too fine” his hand softly touching your waist. “Sugu that can wait, it was quite hard to get a table at this restaurant so now come on”
“Of course ma’am” he smiled walking behind you like a little puppy. “Should I drive” you asked. “No no I’m not letting my lady drive get in the passenger seat princess” you gave him a little smile as you two got inside the car.
As you two got to the restaurant he opened the door for you and being a real gentleman like he usually is (except when you guys are fucking hehe). “How’d you like your birthday?” You asked while checking out the card. “I loved it baby but honestly I like spoiling you myself more then you spoiling me” he answered. “Damn you’re attractive” you whispered. “What was that?” He smiled. “Uh nothing” you answered quietly. He gave her a small smile
Nanami Kento:
Dinner dates with Nanami always were the best. He always took you out to the most expensive restaurants even on holiday. So glad you packed your(his) favorite dress. Gold with glitter, low cut highlighting your body it looked very rich and what looked even better was wearing the necklace he gifted you to your anniversary last year. He loved it and you smelled rich as well ysl perfume he loved it. Matching with the ysl heels he couldn’t get enough. “Wow baby just you look stunning, gorgeous drop dead beautiful” he kissed you. He loved being here with you in Malaysia(he got happy).“Hm Ken maybe we could go swimming after this or a walk at the beach?” You asked while cutting your food. “Sounds great dear” he smiled
And you did after you too were done eating you walked to the beach taking a long walk while the moon light shined beautifully. “Good gosh you look so pretty” he kissed you again. “You look handsome as well” you smiled. The night was young and you decided to go skinny dipping. Taking off the dress and underwear. He did the same as you two walked inside. “Damn it cold” you shivered a little. “Come on here my love” he smiled while pulling you close to his arms. His body temperature warming you. “How can you still be so warm in this water?” You asked while. Almost snuggling up to him. “You” he answered. “Me?!” You answered confused. “Yeah I need to keep you warm so I don’t know my body just works that way” you smiled at his words. “You cutie. Such a man” you whispered kissing him again.
Toji Fuchigoru:
(After pregnancy body-> kinda curvy girl)
He smiled when he saw you were wearing his favorite dress. The date you too planed going out in a not too cheap restaurant while Shiu watched the kids. And damn you looked stunning. That green dark classic dress low cut perfectly fitting black-gold jewelry. And you smelled seductive and sexy. Oh how he loved this good girl perfume or whatever the name was he thought. Pulling you close “fuck baby” he kissed you. His hand groped your ass. Going up to your waist squeezing you as well. “You look great, I just wanna eat you up. You feel so soft damn baby” his hands all over you squeezing you while kissing you. “Now let’s do that after food I’m quite hungry” you answered. He smiled kissing you again. “You sweetheart I’m gonna fill you up again” he whispers. “Huh?!” You asked shocked. He pulled you closer. “Gonna knock you up real good” he whispered into your ear. “Baby we already have two kids” you answered. “Yeah but you look so sexy” he answered his hands squeezing your hips.

jujutsu kaisen x bridgerton
which confession from the bridgerton’s universe would say jjk’s men to their future wife/wife?
ft. geto, gojo, megumi and yuji
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Geto Suguru being the king George, y’know, i really feel like what the king George said to queen Charlotte would be something Geto would say because of his mental issues. I think he’d rather suffer alone than talking to his issues to his wife not to worry her.
Suguru stands up, raises his voice and looks at you, "I’m a madman. I am a danger. In my mind, there are different worlds creeping in. The heavens and the Earth collide. I do not know where I am!"
you raise your voice back, your face is firm, your brows are furrowed, "Do you love me?"
he doesn’t respond to your question and continues to talk about his issue, "You do not wish a life with me for yourself" — he stops — "No one, wishes that".
that’s bullshit! your think to yourself, what the hell would he think that? "Suguru! I will stand with you between the heavens and the Earth. I will tell you where you are. Do you love me?"
shouts echo through the room, the argument keeps going, "I love you! from the mo—" he takes a deep breath "from the moment I saw you trying to go over the wall—" tears begin to form in his eyes "I have loved you desperately. I cannot breathe when you are not near. I love you, yn. My heart calls your name."
both of your breathing are synchronized, Suguru comes closer and kisses you, desperately.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Gojo Satoru being Anthony Bridgerton, i just know sooo well this man thinks he’s THE gentleman of the season, every seasons. I think he doesn’t want to find a wife since he’s the head of his family and he just does what he’s supposed to do but when he first saw you, an inner conflict began.
You’re both in the library, he really wants you to leave or he’s going to do something he’ll regret instantly. He hates you since the first time you met but he doesn’t know why. You just told him you’re leaving for your country and he can’t help but feels betrayed, sad and angry.
Satoru closes his book and looks at you firmly, "do you think there is a corner on this earth that you could travel to far away enough to free me from this torment?"
you look at him completely confused, what the hell is he talking about? you start talking but he cuts you off.
"I am a gentleman, my father raised me to act with honor but that honor is hanging on a thread that grows precarious with every moment I spend in your presence."
"Satoru I—" he comes closer and whispers to your hear "You are the bane of my existence and the object of all my desires. Night and day I dream of you."
You can’t even say a word. He steps back, takes a sip of his whisky "My mother is waiting for me" he quickly bows to you and leaves the room. You’re now all alone in the library thinking about what he just said to you.
Fushiguro Megumi being Simon Basset, i really think this man wants a partner who can be his bestfriend too, even though he never wanted to get married at first.
both of you are no standing in front of your majesty, wishing she’s going to accept your marriage. Megumi has always been a good man to you, but he never wanted to marry you, until that day. Today, you have to convince the queen to marry you.
"You see your Majesty, it was love at first sight—" you start but Megumi cuts you off, "It was not your Majesty" — he looks at you, and you just look completely stunned by his words — "the young lady flatters me, it was not love at first sight for either of us. There’s attraction certainly, at least on my part and Miss [last name] thought me presumptuous, arrogant, insincere, all fair really." — he pauses and breaths heavily, "And I thought her a prim young lady barely out of leading strings, not to mention the sister of my best friend and so romance was entirely out of the question for both of us but in so removing it, we found something far greater." — Megumi looks at you once again — "We found friendship." — The queen looks more interested now — "You see Miss [last name] and I have been fooling all of Shinjuku for quite some time, we have fooled them into thinking we are courting, and really all along, we simply enjoyed each other’s company so much, we could not stay away from one another—" you look at him, mesmerized by his words and presence in front of the queen. "I’ve never been a man that much enjoyed flirting or chatting or indeed talking at all, but with yn—" he clears his throat, "Miss [last name], conversation has always been easy, her laughter brings me joy. To meet a beautiful woman is one thing, but to meet your best friend and the most beautiful of women is something entirely apart…"
Everyone is looking at Megumi absolutely stunned by his confession. He really just said you two were fooling all of Shinjuku by pretending a future marriage?
You didn’t say anything and just keep listening to Megumi, excusing himself towards the queen and the prince.
When you go out from here you look at Megumi and ask him "Did a just say that to the Majesty for her to accept our marriage or—" he sighs, "I think all of what I said. I really think that."
Itadori Yuji being Collin Bridgerton, idk why but Yuji really gives ‘friends to lovers’ vibe and i’m HERE for it! I think this man doesn’t understand signals when someone likes him.
After helping you to find a man, Yuji starts feeling jealous of men trying to court you. When he saw you leaving the ball with your ripped dress, he couldn’t help but feel bad for you. He followed you to your coach and asked you to get on.
"Yuji, what are you doing here?" you ask him, this is definitely not why a gentleman he’s supposed to do, even though you two know each other since eight or nine.
He looks at you and starts telling you what’s in his mind. He talks rapidly because you’re going to you’ll soon reach your estate.
"I have spent so long trying to feel less, trying to be the kind of man society expects me to be. And for a moment, I thought I had succeeded. But these past few weeks have been full of confounding feelings." — he takes your hands in his — "Feeling like a total inability to stop thinking about you—" he looks at your lips, "about that kiss. Feelings like dreaming of you when I’m asleep, and in fact preferring sleep because that is where I might find you. A feeling that is like torture!" — he takes a deep breath — "But one which I cannot, will not, do not want to give up"
Tears start to roll down your cheeks, "please, do not say things you do not mean" — "I do mean it. It is everything I have wanted to say to you for weeks".
You’re now looking at each other. Yuji caresses your cheeks with his thumb and he finally kisses you. The kiss is delicate but rough at the same time. You wanted this for so long!
Once you arrive in front of the Itadori’s estate. He gets out of the coach and offers you his hand to get out too.
"Yuji?" — "Are you coming with me?" he smiles, "What? Your family will see me!" he comes closer, "For God’s sake, yn [last name], are you going to marry me or not?"
You take his hands and goes to his estate, with him.
i wanted to write this for soooo long!!! i had this idea with two of my friends @sunelia and @nycteis17 (look at her fanfiction of sukuna in ao3 : the irony of fate)
i put the one who have a netflix season because i didn’t read the books yet and i didn’t want to put fake things or whatever coming from the books.
i’m trying a new style of header, tell me if you prefer this one or not !!!
english isn’t my first language ;)

jjk hcs: their fav pet names for you
characters: reader x gojo, sukuna, fushiguro, itadori, nanami
warnings: language (i be cussing a lot sry), suggestive in gojo’s but not rly
AN: first jjk post!! hope it doesn’t flop lollllll
GOJO
pet names he calls you: sweet thang, sugar, princess, babe, mrs. gojo
now u alrdy knew before even reading that his goofy ass has a million an one pet names for you lol
but anyways
he’s got a MAJORRR sweet tooth hehe
like bro is always snackin on something sugary
hence the pet names sweet thang and sugar
“whatchu doin sweet thang” holding up his blindfold so you can see him wink at u lmfao
but when he calls u sugar i imagine him doin it the way those sweet old southern ladies say it if ykwim lmao
now
princess and babe are much more casual
like he’s calling out “babe i’m home!” when he gets back from a mission
or y’all are at the school and he’s calling for you even tho he 100% alrdy knows exactly where u are bc of ur cursed energy “princesssssssss where are youuuuuu??”
and mrs. gojo is used in either a VERY romantic situation when he’s tryna rizz u up
or
he’s tryna embarrass you in front of the students
there is no in between
“well, me and mrs. gojo gotta head out! she has stuff to do!”
“satoru.. we are not married. my last name isn’t gojo.”
“… yet” 😼
“and what stuff do i have to do?”
“me. i’m stuff.” 😼
*que megumi, yuji, and nobara fake gagging in the background*
SUKUNA
pet names he calls you: my queen, darling
he’s the king of curses so the first one should be self explanatory
cmon every king needs a queen yk
now he’s powerful as hell right
bro demands respect for himself
but let somebody say som to you in the wrong tone
girl rip that person fr
“you dare to speak to my queen that way?” and he’s busting their ass
also that’s how he introduces you to everybody
introduces himself first. and then hits them w the “and this is my queen, (y/n)”
darling is more of a laid back casual pet name
but he uses it all the mf time
“come here, darling”
“you look beautiful as always, darling”
“darling, you are the one that is important to me.”
darling darling darling
FUSHIGURO
pet names he calls you: babe, love, sweetheart
he likes to keep it simple
most of the time he just calls you by your name
def keeps the pet names to a minimum in public
or when he’s around his friends
especially when he’s around gojo lol
i mean cmon the second he calls u a pet name and gojo overhears?
poor thing is being teased til he’s bright red with embarrassment
in private tho?
ur real name almost never leaves his mouth lmfao
it’s “babe can you do this?” “come take a nap with me, love” “what are you doin, sweetheart”
idk i just know he’s soft for u
ITADORI
pet names he calls you: baby, cutie, peaches/peach
this man loves you and isn’t afraid to show it!!
NEVER uses ur real name
EVER
baby and cutie are his casual nicknames ofc
for things he’s sayin to u in passing
he’s hugging u from behind with a “hey cutie”
or when he’s whining abt something lol
“cmon baby you can’t be mad at me forever”
but he uses peach and peaches the most
the man likes ass
he said it himself
it’s canon
so ofc he’s referring to your “big juicy ass” his words not mine when he calls you that lmfaooo
but it also cute asf
“come peach get dressed! i’m taking you to watch a movie with me!”
NANAMI
pet names he calls you: sweetheart, darling, my love, honey
I. LOVE. HIM.
i rly don’t even have any reasoning behind his usage of these pet names they just fit him
he’s such a serious, sophisticated, gentleman
so of course he takes his relationship with you seriously as well
makes sure that you know he adores you
his love language is words of affirmation ik it
gojo jokes that y’all talk to each other like an old married couple
which u do
but it’s cute!!!
it’s the middle of the night and he has to leave for a mission and wake you up on accident?
“sorry, sweetheart, go back to sleep. i’ll be home soon”
he gets home from the mission and as soon as he opens the door he hits you w the cliche
“honey, i’m home!”
this next one is an every day occurrence
and i MEAN EVERYDAY
“good morning, my love” IN HIS DEEP MORNING VOICE meowwww
and y’all go on a date an you get dressed up for it?
“you look absolutely stunning, darling”

masterlist | previous | next
you are on: realization. part one of three
a/n:
hello lovelies 🩷 i was watching my lady jane and immediately had an urge to write this, so here’s a knight nanami moment for you guys :) it’ll just be three parts, like a longer drabble if you will. enjoy!!
realization. (part one)
“princess, we really must make haste.”
the hydrangeas you were admiring were no longer sunlit with the long figured shadow cast behind you. you hum absently and continue down the ivy-stone pathway, your cream heels clicking softly.
“another five minutes will not kill my father, kento.”
knight kento nanami had to hold back a sigh. he knew better than to believe you would simply do what you were royally asked of. granted he would never dare to oppose your highness, sometimes he wished he could advise you away from the uphill battle approach you so loved to choose. it was a bit of mental torture for the young man to silently bear witness as you pleased with no fear of consequence. despite it all, he admired your courage and resilience. you were a very tough woman with a strong heart. compassion that grew for miles and miles, you simply amazed him. that kind of care was rare in this world.
you couldn’t hear the man following behind you, but you developed a sense of knowing he was always there. my loyal shadow, you’d tease him. your nimble hands brush by the soft petals and leaves of the flowers as you take in the same gardens you’ve been seeing— no, binded to, since your birth.
“a divine princess does not go on outings whenever she pleases!” your governess snapped, slapping her cold cane on your tiny wrists. hot tears welled in the corners of your eyes. “princesses do not show weakness, either,” she huffed and shakes her head at the sight of you as if you were some reckless, hair-brained animal. the memories of your early schooling were rarely pleasant ones. any and all curiosity you had was intended to be stomped out, replaced with knowledge about ballroom dance, fashion history, etiquette. these were the makings of a good, silent wife in the future, best for political marriage union. however, you were not an easy soul to shatter. if anything, the treatment encouraged you tenfold.
you come to a halt at a fully bloomed gardenia bush, dropping your head to inhale the spicy aroma. ironic. its alabaster skin symbolized purity, innocence, refinery— but smelled like pure freedom and rebellion to you. a smile graces your pristine face, head tilted to give your knight a cheeky side eye.
“alright then kento, let us see to what father dearest requires of me.”
when you reach the king’s gentleman’s room, your father stands with two men you hadn’t seen before. one looked older than your father and the other rather youthful. platinum white hair caught your attention first, but were soon replace with his unusual eyes. they were the sharpest arctic blue you’ve ever seen in your life. they felt.. cold. unwelcome. you notice kento settle at the corner of the room to stand guard out of the corner of your eye, a silent spectator.
“ah! come come, daughter. meet his royal highness king masako gojo and his son, prince satoru gojo.”
your face blanches. sharp ringing infiltrating your ears and you couldn’t grasp anything anymore. you knew what was occurring in this very moment.
like clockwork, you curtsy and bow to both nobles. the older king simpers, nodding in approval. “a quiet and obedient one. this alliance will go swimmingly,” he chortles and slaps the prince’s back, giving a whisper you didn’t miss. “easier when they don’t speak, eh?” his joke falls flat as the young man seemed heavily disinterested in taking part in his father’s misogynistic capers.
kento’s jaw ticks, the grip on his sword handle tightening as he fought back the urge to beat the old man to a pulp.
the words didn’t miss your hearing. nose held high, you flash an icy smile and clasp your hands together to keep from slapping the ever-loving sense out of the greasy monarch yourself.
“quite the contrary, your highness. i just don’t interest myself in speaking to puny-minded individuals.”
a low chuckle was quickly masked with a couple coughs from the prince, while king masako’s face sported a blotchy red out of anger and embarrassment.
you father’s eyes flashed with harsh warning at you. your antics were borderline detonating and were no longer found trivial and silly by him. this was the future of the nation at stake, alongside securing your prosperity. he plasters a nervous smile on his face and continues despite your outward rudeness.
“i deeply apologize for my daughter’s behavior- she simply has a sharp tongue. dearest, you are to acquaintance yourself with the prince the next three months for it has been decided you shall marry to bring our kingdoms together in harmony. you should treat them with the utmost respect.” you scoff. how grand of your own kin taking the outsider’s side rather than defend your honor. the anger within you boils. “and when was this decided?” you say with a raised brow. your father looks a little exasperated.
king masako grins his greasy smile once more and steps forward to meet your eye, looking down on you. “didn’t you know? this has been arranged since your birth.. and my son’s.”
your blood runs cold. you knew that you were to be wed and that it was your purpose as this country’s princess, but to know you were just a prize pig? your whole life? and not a soul told you that you were promised from the beginning. you feel your mother’s absence in your childhood, your father’s transactional love. all pieces to the puzzle that finally clicked for you— you’re just a pawn.
you slam your palms on the oak table. “i am not getting married unless it is my will to do so,” you seethe at the men. prince’s lips quirk up at your boldness. how curious.
kento brows scrunch in concern as to how this will play out for you. you father doesn’t mask his rage this time around. “who said anyone will abide your will? you forget your place,” he shouts at you like you’re an insolent child. “no, YOU forget that i am crown princess of this nation and i can very well be the reason it burns to the ground!” you scream back with equal fervor. “you undeserving wench! get out of my sight. get out!!” your father’s voice shakes with intensity and angry tears threaten to spill but you refuse to let them see you weak.
kento’s resolve wavers when he hears the nasty insult come from the king’s mouth. you, a wench? he hasn’t known his daughter a day in his life. kento, however, spent nearly every waking moment observing you, protecting you. he knew your mannerism and habits, what you wore and what you liked or disliked. he knew you liked reading history books and devouring sweet peach tarts. he knew your allergies kicked up when your room was freshly cleaned. he knew you dreamed and raved about wanting more than the closed life you lived, to travel and see the world, and then maybe, just maybe, settle into a small cottage farm with a garden you curated for yourself. more than anything, he knew you were the farthest thing from a wench. what a wretched word. he wanted to demand your father apologize, but that would be a most highest treason to oppose the king in such a manner. especially as a ranked personal knight. he holds back for your sake.
your head snaps to the prince. “i would rather die before the chance you and i shall wed,” you spit at him before you march out of the room, kento in tow. as kento exits, you slam the crested door with finality. your heels carry you before you realize it and you’re running down the halls, dress flowing and eyes blurry. maids walking by look at you and whisper, a butler trying to stop you and ask if you are alright but you brush by, his efforts in vain. once you reach your room, kento begins to follow and you stop him, looking up with shiny eyes. “please leave me be, kento,” you whisper, tears trickling down silently.
kento feels his heart squeeze painfully at the sight. he hated seeing you upset. it would take the most evil person in world to reduce you to such anguish and your father was just that. he wanted to comfort you, to selfishly hold you close and whisper sweet nothings to you as you cried your heart out. but he knew that that was his guilty want, and you wished to feel through this pain by yourself. hesitantly, he nods and steps back. you close the door and immediately crumple to the floor, your body wracked with sobs. you felt so alone and insignificant.
in this moment, kento could do nothing but helplessly listen to you.
you eventually cried yourself to tiredness. you fell asleep with dried tears stained on your cheeks, draped over your footboard bench in an odd angle. kento had turned away all servants at your door, but took a plate of tarts and water on a tray. he waited for the halls to empty, the night soon befalling.
he quietly opened your door with tray in hand, walking in as stealthy as he usually carries himself. the moonlight shone from the large windows of your balcony onto your slumped figure. you looked positively ethereal. the remnants of your grief didn’t hinder your natural beauty. kento felt dirty to admit you almost looked beautiful with tears painted on your glass skin. he brushed the thoughts from his mind and set the tray down on your table.
he wasn’t allowed to be in your quarters at this distance but he couldn’t bear not making sure you were alright. a breeze from the open windows blows in gently and he catches you shiver. he thinks for a moment and eventually decides to just do it — he carefully picks you up from the floor to put you snugly in to your bed. this action causes you to awake slightly. you stir, rubbing your eyes. kento looks down at you in his arms in surprise. you looked like a soft pretty lamb, he thought.
“kento..? where.. where am i?” he walks around the bed to lay you down carefully, standing beside you. “your room, princess. you came in yourself, remember?” the memories of the day flooded back to touch and your expression turns grim. “ah.. yes. i’m so sorry you had to come in and take care of me.” kento shakes his hand dismissing your worry. “nonsense. this is my duty as your protector.” you offer a small smile despite your low feelings. “it is greatly appreciated.”
silence falls between the two of you. kento is looking at you with deep thought- he’s trying to formulate his message in a way that wouldn’t be overstepping of him, but—
“i want to run away.”
“what?!”
i'm so sorry if this feels abrupt :( since this is going to be three parts i had to split it at equal lengths in events </3 but!! do not fret!!! the next two will be up shortly to make up for it ;) peace luv bathtub!

EDIT: check out the series here!
thinking about writing a bridgerton!gojo fic (series?)....
duke gojo, who has stirred up everyone and their mamas with news of how he is finally joining the marriage scene this season after years of fooling around. of course, to no one's surprise, he is the season's most eligible bachelor. he's the strongest, whether that be in terms of wealth or other manly pursuits gentlemen ought to be good at. gojo isn't marrying for love. he just needs to be tied down to secure his inheritance so he can gamble and fool around at the gentleman's clubs with his friends until he drops dead one day.
you seek to be the perfect daughter in front of your parents. you have been taught to be the picture of grace and nobility, proficient at all things a lady must be good at: needlework, art, music...you name it. but deep inside, you have an affinity for literature---feminist literature. you secretly feel aversion towards the idea of marrying just to be a submissive wife but will not show it. you are perfectly content marrying any man that should not harm you as long as he has the means to provide for you and make your family proud.
upon your presentation to the queen, you are immediately crowned a diamond. the first ball of the season comes, and gojo undoubtedly has his eyes sight on you as the diamond of the season. after all, why would a duke need to settle for anything less when he can buy the shiniest jewel?
on your dance with him, you give all the template responses. "i would sire as many kids as my husband desires." you are afraid of pregnancy and even more so of raising kids. "of course I read byron!" you hate byron's poetry.
gojo is content, and you, tired of all the stares and hushed whispers that have followed you through the night, leave to get fresh air outside in the terrace. only to overhear:
"a bit simpleminded. has no opinions of substance that should cause conflict. she's perfectly fine for a wife. i shall begin courting her and will soon pro---"
at that moment, you have one thought in your mind: you will never marry satoru gojo. in fact, you abhor him.
cue insults thrown back and forth. when it comes down to having to marry gojo, the most eligible bachelor and the option that will make your parents the proudest, will it be a matter of fillial piety or...love?
dear reader, this season has definitely come forth with many promises of thinly veiled hatred, jealousy, and burning passion.
oops this is longer than the silly little thought i wanted to post but welp. the smut i have planned for this is outright nastyyy
comment if you'd like to be on the taglist for this
i also promise i have not forgotten about beach boy gojo :3 running into a bit of writer's block for that so my inbox is always open for ideas <3

Hey I heard you are taking requests what if “Gojo gets jealous cause reader getting hit on by someone TALLER than him” <333
Hydrangeas.
Pairings: Gojo Satoru x Fem! Reader.
Tags: Fluff, jealousy.
Synopsis: Stupid baby is late to your date and then he gets jealous.
A/N: ANON THIS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA I HAVE BEEN DYING TO WRITE THIS SINCE THE MOMENT I SAW THE REQUEST ITS SO YUM I LOVE JEALOUS AND A LIL BUTTHURT GOJO
It was the hydrangea season, which was also one of your favorite flowers. Making it an excellent idea to ask you out on a date.
Wanting to stun him with your looks you decided to wear a bluish-lavender flowy dress, adorned with bows and laces around your waist and neckline, shoulder straps made of pearls exposing your shoulders, and a choker of the same pattern that came with the dress. Oh, how ethereal you looked right now.
Though you dolled up for your lovely boyfriend who has been half an hour late, people couldn't help but turn their heads to take a glance at you. Some were even brave enough to come up to you and ask for your number. You immediately rejected everyone's advances while waiting for Gojo, standing in the heat of the sun- until a man, a tall one at that decided to tower over you, blocking the sun's rays. You couldn't be more thankful to him, letting out a relieved sigh.
"What's a pretty lady doing here all alone? No way should someone dare to stand you? That too in such heat, that's quite cruel" He sighed. "But are you feeling better now?" He inquired, smiling gently.
Oh, he was quite a gentleman, nice and well-spoken. His tone would charm any person, easing their worries. And that's what it did to you. The heat had already cooked your brain with Satoru nowhere to be found, no texts received from him nor were you able to reach him. But you were thankful to the stranger for accompanying you- which stopped people from asking about you.
You were lost in your thoughts when you felt a tap on your shoulder. "Are you alright?" The stranger questioned, worried.
"Oh yeah, I'm fine! Thank you." You answered politely, not willing to further the conversation any longer which might lead to misunderstandings between you and your boyfriend but that didn't stop the stranger from talking to you.
As another half an hour passed by you were laughing with the stranger about some random things, him suggesting places to visit- creating a perfect picture of a couple having their cute little conversation.
This was bad, as Satoru overheard people talking about a couple while heading toward you. Fastening his steps to rush toward the entrance he sees you along with some random man. He was visibly annoyed. Not at you but at the man, he saw you maintain the distance but also saw how he made you laugh, how he stared at you fondly and realized how badly that random guy wants to steal his ethereal oblivious woman from him. Gojo wanted to stay calm but right now his heart was being twisted, the pang in his chest worsening every moment thinking how he was already so late for a date he planned.
And suddenly Gojo was beside you, pulling you into his chest by your waist standing in between the guy and you.
"Hello, my stunning lady, I'm sorry you had to wait for me" he complimented you before trying to kiss you, which you swatted away.
"Why. Are. You. So. Late." You glared at him before turning to the guy who visibly hovered over Satoru as well. Which quite surprised you. 'tall' you thought to yourself before collecting your thoughts together. "Thank you for accompanying me today, it was nice meeting you." you slightly bowed as a sign of respect and wishing him a goodbye.
"Yeah thanks but you can lea-" Before Satoru could finish his cold sentence, he was cut off and ignored.
"It was nice meeting you too, how about we meet later for a coffee? We can be good friends I think" the man suggested. This took you and Satoru both by surprise. You were amazed by the guy whereas Satoru was aggravated by his arrogance.
"Did your brain stop working and perhaps made you blind as well? Did you just ask my girlfriend for a date in front of me? Do you perhaps have a death wish?" Gojo's tone was sharp. He was barely holding himself back and to make it all worse he had to tilt his head higher than he would've normally had to. Satoru loved how he hovered over the most but this time his pride took a huge blow when this random guy flirted with his woman while ignoring him and towering over him.
"Well, then you clearly aren't doing a good job at being a boyfriend. Making your pretty girlfriend wait for at least an hour then you start being rude to people who help her? Seems a little...." He retorts.
It's almost as if Gojo is stabbed in the heart and if anything, he'd look like he's making excuses for his mistreatment toward you.
"Alright, that's enough. I'm thankful to you for tagging along with me but please I'd rather you not be disrespectful to my boyfriend" You cut them off, not wanting to escalate the issue any further and drag Gojo inside the park finally starting your awaited date. It doesn't help how he also entered the park with you guys before you soon went on different paths.
Satoru soon reverts to his old self, cracking up jokes, telling you the random fun facts you love while grinning proudly with you at his side and showering you with endless compliments. But you also notice how he's a lil extra close and how he is even more talkative today, almost as if he's overcompensating. You know him all too well and know how he's feeling quite awful. You know behind that overly confident person is your Satoru who, like any other human has ordinary feelings.
You are both seated on a bench enjoying your ice cream, speaking seriously once you both finish eating "Uhm, I'm sorry for being late. It is solely my fault and then they also called me up for an emergency- so yeah, but I promise I'll make it up" He looks at you with eyes pleading for forgiveness, slightly overthinking the entire ordeal.
"Satoru, it's fine, I realized that the moment I saw you, okay?" You comfort him by pulling him into a hug "But next time inform me alright? I'll be there to help you out!!"
You feel his shoulders relax a bit as he pulls away before gently cupping your cheek and kissing you softly with his other arm wrapped around your waist.
"You know that I love you the most, right?" He confesses sincerely, pure words from the bottom of his heart.
"Mn. And I love you too Satoru" You replied earnestly. "By the way, Satoru. Y'know you should've just started levitating while doing a T-post to assert your dominance over that guy" You joke around, giggling "Imagine. How that would've scared him" you continue successfully eliciting a genuine laugh from Gojo, a pleasant sound to your ears.
Gojo inhales sharply through his teeth. "Tsk. I really should've done that. Even better! maybe I'll pick you up and kiss you in front of everyone" he giggled. His worries are now long forgotten.
Except whenever he sees the man- around a stall or walking by, much to your embarrassment. Gojo does lift you in his arms in front of everyone before kissing you. The gesture announces to everyone that you both belong to each other.
"You're annoying" You giggle wrapping arms around his neck.
"Is that so? I fail to see that you're annoyed" He retorts as he shushes you before you say anything, with his lips.
I FEEL LIKE I KINDA WENT OVERBOARD BUT I HOPE U LIKE IT.

Chapter 4: Shadows in the Moonlight - A Fateful Meeting at the Ball
Pairing: Gojo x fem!reader
Warnings: reader's death, language
Genre: Isekai, Romance, Fantasy
Synopsis: Your life takes a tragic turn as you perish in a car crash, only to awaken in a whimsical world of fantasy with none other than Jujustu Kaisen characters as its main protagonists. But as if that wasn't enough, you're about to marry the prince version of Gojo Satoru. How will you navigate through this world of history and fantasy? Does your life take the same sudden twist of fate as that of your favorite characters?
<- Previous Chapter l Next Chapter ->
„I won’t wear this. End of the discussion.”
“Are you out of your mind, sister? Prince Satoru sent this dress himself and ordered you to wear it!”
“I couldn’t care less about what Prince Satoru tells me to do.”
“Lady (y/n), please come to your senses. This is a beautiful gown and apart from that, it matches your skin tone and eyes perfectly. I am certain he didn’t choose this dress himself. Do the maid who was responsible for it a favour and wear it to the ball.”
Just to hear her voice sends shivers down your spine and calms down your pounding heart. Well, what did you expect when you found yourself reincarnated into a fantasy world with Jujutsu Kaisen characters playing the royal main roles? Definitely not Shoko Ieiri being your first maid, that is for sure.
“Fine”, you grumble.
“But I’ll only do it because of Shoko. Now get out of here, brother.”
Naoya sends a row of sickening glares your way before storming off and finally leaving you some room to breathe. This slowly but surely begins to feel like a never-ending nightmare. All you did was asking Gojo for an invitation to the ball along with a bouquet of flowers. But this?
You take out the jaw-dropping gorgeous gown that is covered in glitter, allow your hands to feel the softness of the fabric. There is no doubt in the fact that this was way more expensive than anything you have ever worn, so finely crafted that you didn’t even want to touch it when you first opened the box. But Shoko is right.
“How likely is it that the maid responsibly for choosing this dress will lose her head if I don’t wear it to the ball, Shoko?”
She eyes you and the dress up and down in silence while pouting her lips. To be honest, when you first saw her in that black and white maids dress, you almost fell out of the window. How is it even possible that she’s considered your maid in this world? Luckily for you, she at least kept her sense of humor.
“Very likely. To be exact, she might lose her head the same evening if Prince Satoru lives up to his reputation.”
“What a great way to describe my future fiancé. Would you help me put it on, then?”, you mutter.
Oh, how much you hate the thought of doing this man a favour, of putting something onto your body he has seen before. He doesn’t deserve to even look your way for how he talked to you, for how he treated you. Your impression from him in the manga definitely wasn’t wrong:
This man is nothing but a womanizer and collector of hearts.
“Didn’t you like him at least a little bit, Lady (y/n)? From what I have heard so far, it is said that he is a true gentleman and treats women with all due respect. Just not everyone else”, Shoko comments while tying the laces of your bodice.
You can’t help but huff in sheer anger and frustration. Gojo Satoru? A true gentleman? Is she really talking about the man who endangered you, who didn’t agree on marrying you? Just after you put him down in front of your whole family and threatened him with revealing his biggest secret…
Well, nobody’s perfect. But especially he isn’t.
“Let me tell you something, Shoko. This man is nothing but a philanderer, a pompous prince who thinks he owns the world.”
“But this pompous prince will be called your fiancé after tonight”, she reminds you violently.
You huff to yourself while balling your hands into tight fists and looking at yourself in the mirror. That new sensation of lavender eyes, the stinging fact that you are responsible for marrying that man you never really liked that much. But what other choice do you have? Even though you just came into this world, you aren’t dumb. Just one look into Naobito’s and Naoya’s cold eyes is enough to know they aren’t joking around. If Gojo doesn’t propose to you tonight, you will lose your life all over again. Running away? What a ridiculous thought. They’d find you where ever you go, hunt you down like the prey you are. Jujutsu Kaisen taught you that life isn’t that simple, that you cannot get away like that.
That new-gained life, the only one you might have left…
You straighten your shoulders and put a smile onto your lips so forced that your cheeks start aching. If calling yourself Prince Satoru’s fiancée is the price you have to pay for a second life, you will take it. But you’ll definitely won’t play his perfect little fiancée until the end of time. No, despite all the horrible things that could happen, despite the fact that you can consider yourself lucky for an opportunity like that, you still want to live the life you always imagined.
You will find a way out. But tonight, you have to play along.
-at the ball-
“If you don’t behave yourself-“
“Can you shut your mouth just once? It’s not like I’m a kid and didn’t listen to your nonsense the whole ride to the palace”, you interrupt your brother with a yawn.
“I think you don’t get it, sister.”
Naoya grabs your wrist so tightly that your bones feel like bursting any given minute, his cold glare piercing through you like a knife.
“If you mess this up, you will lose your head. And even though I’d love to witness that, we can use you as the wife of the prince better.”
His eyes tell you that he definitely isn’t lying, that every cruel word coming from his mouth is nothing but the truth. You swallow hard, yanking away your arm in order to escape his grasp. Fuck, this is absolutely serious. If you mess this up, if that jerk changes his opinion-
“Lady (y/n), what a pleasant surprise to see you made it on time.”
Oh. You turn around in a mix of relief and panic. It’s him.
“Sir Suguru”, you breathe out.
As fast as you’re able to walk in that pompous dress and those heels, you storm away from your brother in order to greet your new-found saviour.
“Where do you think you’re going, sister?”, Naoya hisses through gritted teeth.
“He’s a good friend of Prince Satoru, don’t you think it’s my responsibility to greet him? Now get away from me”, you bark back at him.
“What a pain in the ass”, you mumble to yourself, cheeks burning in nothing but sheer anger.
Now that you think of it, getting out of that toxic household is definitely more important than keeping your distance to Gojo. You need this evening to be perfect. Everything needs to go according to plan.
“I see you arrived with your brother”, Geto comments with an oh so charismatic smile.
“Oh, you noticed. I tried to leave him in the basement where he belongs, but he keeps finding his way back”, you blurt out before thinking twice.
Fuck.
Your eyes widen in sheer horror.
Just a few seconds ago, you reminded yourself to act normally, to do everything in order to make this plan work. And now…you’re insulting your family in front of Gojo’s best friend.
“I apologize, I shouldn’t have said that-“
“It’s not a secret to anyone that Sir Naoya is a truly special contemporary. What surprises me though is how a Lady like you was able to develop in such an environment.”
“Please don’t tell Prince Satoru.”
The begging tone in your voice catches Geto off guard. You, who wasn’t even afraid of a Prince while rejecting him. What is it that you fear so badly?
“I’m a man of words. Of course, this will stay with us if you wish so, Lady (y/n). Now, let’s go inside, shall we? I know for certain Prince Satoru is already awaiting you.”
“Don’t make me blush, Prince Satoru-“
“Prince Satoru, there is something important I haven’t told you yet! What do you think about talking in private for a minute?”
“Now now, Ladies. I am not allowed to leave the ball I am hosting only to have a little talk. And apart from that, a noble man like me can’t meet a gorgeous Lady without a chaperone by her side. Your reputation might get ruined and I cannot stand the sheer thought of that”, Satoru replies with his voice so sweet that you feel like throwing up.
Is this guy for real? You ball your hands into tight fists, eyes too focused on the way he stares that bunch of needy women up and down with his eyes so sparkly that they might take their clothes of any given time. Didn’t this guy tell you yesterday that he wants to marry you?
“May I say that you look absolutely lovely tonight, dearest Lady Mei?”
“You always know just what to say to make a lady blush. But I must say, you’re looking quite dashing yourself. Perhaps we should make it a habit to complement each other more often, Prince Satoru”, she purrs back at him.
Mei Mei, the so called “Lady” who shared her bed with her little brother and cares about nothing but herself as your competition? Suguru side-eyes you up and down while trying to position himself in front of the cheesy scene, but you have enough.
Nope, you can’t do this. There’s no way in hell you’ll talk or let alone dance with that womanizer. Is this the only choice you have in your life? Getting killed by your so-called family or spending the rest of your days standing next to a man who has his mind and probably his body on a new girl every week?
“Disgusting”, you hiss through gritted teeth, not even caring about the look Suguru gives you while speeding off.
What are you supposed to do? Running away and trying to hide your traces? Risking it all and rejecting Prince Gojo once again? All of those thoughts are nothing but bullshit.
Your family will find and kill you if you decide to run away. And Prince Gojo? Who know what that guy is capable of.
“Don’t mind my comment, but you don’t have to feel nervous. I am more than certain that Prince Satoru fell head over heels for you”, Suguru whispers into your ear, following you around with ease.
“Are you forced to tell that every woman he wants to have as his trophy?”, you bite back.
You definitely don’t have any nerve to think about Prince Satoru or the stinging fact that you’ve landed in that strange universe for another minute.
“Drinking. Drinking sounds good right now”, you mumble while storming towards a buffet filled with beverages and biscuits.
Cup after cup you cough down the sweet liqueur that leaves your head dizzy and mind forgetting all the shit you’ve been through for a brief second. You were alive, you died, you woke up again in this strange world and now you’re supposed to die again? Dying or getting married to a womanizer, a man who’ll never give you the love you deserve.
“Lady (y/n), are you feeling unwell-“
“I need to get out of here. Please leave me alone for a second”, you mumble without even looking at Suguru.
You need a few minutes or rather hours for yourself. Without anyone around, without all the pressure crushing your shoulders. Your feet stumble around without a real aim, shoulders bumping into strangers over and over until your eyes finally spot an empty hallway opposite of you.
Fuck Prince Satoru and that whole new world you now live in. Right now, you need some time to get a hold on your life and all the stuff that happened those last 48 hours.
You dart forwards, almost sprint when the crowd gets sparser. You need to get away from that place, away from the stinging presence of your brother, your father and Gojo.
“I can’t marry him. But I can’t stay here either. I need to…AH!”
Sparks fly, you feel your head bump into something rock hard, your body falling straight to the cold ground. Out of instinct, you squint your eyes together and brace yourself for bumping straight onto the floor butt-first. Were you really dumb enough to run against a wall or a statue, maybe?
But you never land. Instead, you feel a pair of firm arms wrapped around your waist, keeping you in place. You let out the breath you didn’t know you were holding, slowly allowing your lids to flutter open.
Your heart stops.
Can it really be? No, that’s impossible. There’s no way in hell a guy like him would attend a ball like that-
“I think your lost, the ball is right behind you, young Lady”, he speaks out with low voice.
“Toji Fushiguro”, you mumble when your glossy eyes fixate on the scar that decorates the right side of his mouth way too familiar.

OF COURTSHIPS & RUSES — TEASER
Duke!Satoru Gojo x Reader • Bridgerton AU
god dammit. Okay. Fine.
Of Courtships & Ruses , a Gojo x Reader Bridgerton AU has been added to the WIP pile.
It will be hella NSFW. But enjoy the teaser.
You made to hastily leave the garden, but the way the heir to the Six Eyes clan stared at you brought you to a halt.
“What are you doing?”
The Duke only smirked, his eyes glowing even in the dark spring air. “I am marveling over my own brilliance.”
Time and time again, Mother had reminded you that rolling one’s eyes was not the habit of a proper lady, but at that moment, you found it impossible to heed her words.
“I did not think it possible that twiggish neck of yours could tolerate your head growing any larger,” You lifted your chin high as you stared down your nose at him. “But it seems I was mistaken. What, pray tell, is this stroke of genius you claim?”
He only grinned, ignoring your barb. “A solution to our mutual Sorceress issue.”
You scoffed. “I need no such help,” though even as you said them, the words felt hollow. “Her Majesty declared me this season’s Diamond.”
The Duke feigned surprise. “My apologies,” he said in mock earnest. He pointedly turned his head from side to side as though searching for something lurking in the darkened garden. “I must have walked right past your line of eligible suitors.”
The serenity of the garden, broken only by the occasional chirp of the crickets and the distant sounds of the party beyond, made the silence hanging in the air all the louder.
“What are you proposing?” You finally asked, eyes narrowed.
The twinkle in Satoru Gojo’s eyes was dangerous. “We could pretend to form an attachment.”
He took a step towards you, a hand on his chin as he delighted in his idea. “Think for a moment — I do not wish to be married, and you wish to have your pick of the Ton’s most eligible suitors.”
“With you on my arm, all will believe I have finally found my future duchess; all those plotting mothers will finally leave me be.” The Duke’s excitement rolled off him, creating a buzz in the air. “And every man worth his salt will be looking at you.”
Gojo closed the distance between the two of you, the woody scent of cypress and mandarin washing over you.
“Surely you know that men are always more interested in a woman when they believe another has set his eyes on her as well,” his grin was lupine. “Particularly when that other man happens to be a Duke.”
“You presume Lady Sorceress will —“ you began to protest.
“I presume Lady Sorceress will perceive us exactly as we wish,” Gojo said smoothly. “Me, unavailable; you, desirable.”
You could not tear your eyes away from his. “It is an absurd plan,” you chuffed, and yet, you could not stop the smile beginning to tug at your lips. “Ludicrous, even.”
“Provided you do not wish to marry me, and I do not wish to marry you, whatever do you have to lose?”
The Duke turned away from you then and took two, long strides back toward the garden gate and the party raging at the front of the sprawling estate.
You remained there, among the hyacinths and wisteria trees, frozen in your uncertainty.
Could you truly pull this ruse off? Could you save your debut season, and perhaps show everyone in the Ton precisely why Her Majesty deigned to name you her Diamond?
“My lady,” the Duke turned back towards you and held out his arm, waiting to escort you back to the garden as a proper gentleman would.
You looked between the intricate cuff at the end of the tailored sleeve of his waistcoat and back to those piercing cerulean eyes.
His arm was his final offer; to take it would be to accept it, unequivocally on his terms.
To deny would be to resign yourself to the desolate corners of humiliation and isolation for the rest of the season; perhaps your life.
Whatever do you have to lose?
You stepped forward, back straight and chin held high, as you slid your hand into the crook of his arm.
You inhaled once through your nose, allowing the scent of the blooming garden wisteria to calm you. “Shall we?”
Satoru Gojo smiled as he led you back to the dazzling lights and symphonic melodies of the season’s first grand revel.

Satosugu.
Being the captain of the basketball team isn’t an easy task for Satoru. It’s complicated when everyone is after you, you’re the best, and no one can match you. Did you expect it to be difficult just because of the games? Haha, he’s a magnate in that sport, just enjoying flaunting the number of girls and boys who are after him, waiting for even a glance. Damn, he’s dazzling, a fiery guy who never wastes time flirting with people who get a chance to talk to him.
If you were in love with a girl, you’d better pray she doesn’t come into contact with the albino, because if she did, your chances would drop to minus a hundred in a matter of seconds.
But it was hard not to drool over such an attractive man. With just one look from those deep eyes, you’d be drooling. And as if that wasn’t enough, he carried an arrogance that somehow managed to attract twice as many people towards him. But you should never forget that dominant presence he had; he was undoubtedly that kind of guy.
Although people almost begged to hang out with him, his social circle was actually quite tight. In fact, it was unknown who his close friends were, maybe some guys from his team, but little was known about whether he had any romantic interests or anything like that. So, it was normal for him to be surrounded by boys and girls trying to talk to him, even if it was just a two-word conversation, as was happening right now.
The end of school had arrived, and with it came tons of teenagers trying to escape from that high school, eager to get back to their homes. In a corner stood Gojo, who was apparently waiting for someone while enjoying a bag of candy.
Everything was peaceful until, in the distance, he heard:
“It’s Satoru-san, let’s go.” It was one of the first-year students. Damn, those girls never left him alone. I mean, he liked the attention, but it was getting tiresome.
“Satoru-san, how are you? You look very handsome today,” said one of them, and another added:
“What are you saying? He always looks great, so bright,” said the other girl with a laugh, and her friends giggled quietly.
Before he could respond, the sound of a motorcycle made all the girls go silent. A guy almost as tall as Satoru got off, with long black hair and a sturdy build. He was dressed entirely in black, in tight outfits except for the large jacket and boots he wore. He approached with a flirtatious smile towards Satoru, and all the young girls were mesmerized by the two beauties in front of them. Could this be his friend?
“Sorry, ladies, but your gentleman already has a boyfriend, and one who won’t share him,” he said with his calm voice while putting his arms around the albino’s waist, who gave him a small smile.
“Shall we go?” he asked, and once he received the nod from the other, with his hand still on the other's waist, they started running towards the motorcycle, getting on it to escape from the stunned girls.
“Do you think I did well?” he asked while turning his head, which only earned him a smile from his boyfriend, who was clinging to his back.
Who would have thought that a guy like Satoru would be dating a seemingly muscular metalhead?
